The Development Associate will provide analytical support, assist in project development, maintain project data, and collaborate with project partners to ensure successful project outcomes.
DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE:
Renewable Properties is seeking a highly motivated Development Associate to support the advancement of infill distributed energy infrastructure projects, including but not limited to battery energy storage systems (BESS), edge data centers, and electric vehicle charging hubs. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and brings strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities in order to balance numerous complex projects across the country. Responsibilities:
- Provide analytical, strategic, and process support throughout the project development lifecycle (e.g. including land, interconnection, engineering, permitting, power marketing, construction & financing)
- Assist with advancing development of assigned projects to construction-ready status
- Support scoping and implementation of due diligence, permitting, engineering, legal, and other activities
- Maintenance of project data, databases, and tracking tools for assigned projects
- Support transactional activities by maintaining data rooms and other activities as necessary
- Prepare documents, applications, meeting agendas/minutes, and reports
- Successfully interact and collaborate with a variety of internal and external project partners
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in development ideally in structured land development, energy, (prior experience in renewable energy is a plus), engineering, and/or, real estate
- Expertise with various facets of land project development process to ensure successful project outcomes
- Familiarity with ArcGIS, Google Earth, AutoCAD, and other geospatial and/or drafting tools used for due diligence and project execution processes
- Familiarity with surveying and utility new service connection processes including but not limited electricity, water/sewer, and, telecommunication utilities
- Resourceful and accomplished research skills to effectively utilize publicly available materials, tools, and, technology to derisk and expedite projects
- Ability to succinctly communicate and summarize complex issues into actionable deliverables, and ensure timely completion of action items from internal and external parties
- Driven, resourceful, and, comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment
- Rigorous attention to detail, work ethic, personal responsibility, work product ownership, and, organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, urban planning, project management or a related field; Master’s preferred
