N3XT is a Wyoming-chartered Special Purpose Depository Institution (SPDI). We are a 100% reserved, non-lending bank designed to serve as a secure bridge between traditional capital markets and public blockchain infrastructure. Backed by Paradigm, HACK VC, Winklevoss Capital, and Pharsalus, we prioritize safety and transparency for institutional B2B clients.

Position Summary

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will architect the secure, scalable cloud foundations of our financial platform. We are hiring across multiple levels to drive our automation, reliability, and security initiatives. You will spend the majority of your time managing cloud environments (GCP), optimizing CI/CD pipelines, and hardening infrastructure for regulated banking standards. You will also have the unique opportunity to apply these skills to the blockchain ecosystem, supporting node networks and cryptographic security alongside our Web3 experts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure.
  • CI/CD & Automation: Build and manage automated CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) to streamline software delivery and operational tasks.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools like Terraform to ensure version-controlled, repeatable environments.
  • Observability & Reliability: Implement and maintain comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure system uptime and proactive risk management.
  • Security & Compliance: Enforce security best practices, including system hardening, vulnerability management, and access controls, ensuring alignment with compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Container Orchestration: Manage and scale containerized applications and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker) in production environments.
  • Incident Response: Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and root cause analysis (RCA) to minimize downtime and prevent recurrence.
  • Technical Strategy & Trade-offs: Champion simple, maintainable solutions over complex ones. Collaborate with engineering teams to weigh the trade-offs between "build vs. buy" and "speed vs. perfection."

What We’re Looking For

  • Cloud Proficiency: Hands-on experience designing and managing infrastructure in large-scale cloud environments (GCP).
  • Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency with IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Pulumi.
  • Containerization: Experience with Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in at least one modern scripting language (e.g., Python, Go, Bash) for automation.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Experience building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions.
  • Monitoring Tools: Hands-on experience with observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
  • Security Fundamentals: Understanding of security best practices, network security, and risk mitigation.
  • Pragmatic Engineering Mindset: A track record of making smart technical judgments. You know when to ship a "good enough" fix to unblock the team and when to invest time in a perfect long-term architecture.

Nice To Haves

  • Blockchain Infrastructure: Experience architecting and managing multi-provider node networks or running production-grade blockchain nodes.
  • Cryptographic Management: Familiarity with institutional-grade HSMs (Hardware Security Modules), MPC systems, or key lifecycle management.
  • Smart Contract Familiarity: Understanding of smart contract lifecycles, deployment, or languages like Solidity (EVM) or Rust (Solana).
  •  Regulated Industry Experience: Background in Finance, Banking, Fintech, or Healthcare, with familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC2, FIPS 140-2).

What you need to know about the Austin Tech Scene

Austin has a diverse and thriving tech ecosystem thanks to home-grown companies like Dell and major campuses for IBM, AMD and Apple. The state’s flagship university, the University of Texas at Austin, is known for its engineering school, and the city is known for its annual South by Southwest tech and media conference. Austin’s tech scene spans many verticals, but it’s particularly known for hardware, including semiconductors, as well as AI, biotechnology and cloud computing. And its food and music scene, low taxes and favorable climate has made the city a destination for tech workers from across the country.

Key Facts About Austin Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 180,500; 13.7% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Dell, IBM, AMD, Apple, Alphabet
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, hardware, cloud computing, software, healthtech
  • Funding Landscape: $4.5 billion in VC funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Live Oak Ventures, Austin Ventures, Hinge Capital, Gigafund, KdT Ventures, Next Coast Ventures, Silverton Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Texas, Southwestern University, Texas State University, Center for Complex Quantum Systems, Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences, Texas Advanced Computing Center
