What We'll Bring:
We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to join a newly formed engineering team in Costa Rica, supporting TransUnion’s global platform infrastructure. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud environments that support applications operating worldwide.The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering teams across the US and India, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient deployment and operation of cloud-based systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, collaboration, and a high level of ownership over infrastructure and platform reliability.
What You'll Bring:
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure (primarily on GCP or similar platforms)
- Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications on Kubernetes environments (GKE or similar)
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools such as Ansible or equivalent
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for efficient and automated deployments
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of cloud-based systems
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and support production environments
- Collaborate closely with development teams to improve deployment processes and system reliability
- Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions (e.g., Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes
- Maintain and improve Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
Impact You'll Make:
Required Skills
- 3 to 5 years of experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Cloud platforms (GCP preferred or similar)
- Kubernetes and container orchestration
- CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar)
- Experience with automation tools (Ansible or similar)
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems
- Experience with scripting (Python, Bash, or similar)
- Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, Load Balancing, Firewalls)
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform or similar)
- Exposure to microservices architecture
- Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments
- GCP certifications (Associate/Professional) are a plus
Nice to Have
This is a remote position which may require occasional in-person attendance at work-related events at the discretion of management.- Experience with tools such as Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD, or Spinnaker
- Familiarity with data streaming and observability tools (Kafka, Redis, Splunk)
- Exposure to AI-enabled tools for automation and productivity improvements
