Digital Solutions Development Manager
Position: Digital Solutions Development Manager – Digital Solutions Division (DSD)
Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking an experienced Digital Solutions Development Manager to lead software engineering initiatives across our Digital Solutions Division. This strategic leadership role is responsible for defining the software development vision, advancing technology modernization, and leading teams that deliver innovative digital solutions for our customers.
We are seeking a technology leader with 10+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 5 years of people leadership experience, and a proven track record delivering enterprise-scale software platforms. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in modern software architectures, cloud technologies, agile development, DevOps practices, and organizational transformation.
What You'll Do:Technology Strategy & Innovation
- Define and execute the Digital Solutions software engineering vision, technology strategy, and roadmap aligned with business objectives.
- Lead technology transformation initiatives, including modernization efforts, AI adoption, automation strategies, and emerging technologies.
- Drive innovation and customer-focused software solutions that support business growth and product modernization.
Software Development Leadership
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle, ensuring the delivery of scalable, secure, reliable, and high-quality software solutions.
- Serve as the technical authority for Digital Solutions, providing leadership on architecture, platform strategy, technology standards, and engineering best practices.
- Champion modern development methodologies including Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud-native architectures.
Engineering Excellence & Governance
- Establish engineering governance, development standards, KPIs, and performance metrics to improve quality, predictability, and operational efficiency.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across software development processes.
- Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, reliability, and performance requirements.
People Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop a high-performing software engineering organization.
- Manage staffing, hiring, performance management, coaching, and career development activities.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Support employee development through training, cross-training, certifications, and continuing education opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and customers to develop and deliver customer-centric solutions.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Data, Security, and Operations teams to ensure successful product delivery and technology integration.
- Support responsible AI governance and technology adoption initiatives.
Business & Financial Management
- Evaluate build-versus-buy opportunities and optimize technology investments.
- Develop and manage engineering budgets, ROI analyses, and strategic investment plans.
- Manage vendor relationships and external development partners to support organizational goals.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of software engineering experience.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing software development teams.
- Experience delivering enterprise-scale, SaaS, cloud-based, or high-growth software platforms with high availability and scalability.
Skills & Expertise
- Strong experience with modern software architectures, cloud technologies, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Experience with AWS, API architectures, and modern integration platforms.
- Proven success implementing and leading DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies.
- Experience leading technology modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
- Knowledge of AI, automation, and emerging technology adoption within enterprise environments.
- Strong business acumen and strategic decision-making capabilities.
- Advanced analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to lead organizational change and drive adoption of new technologies.
