A Senior Director serves as a leader within Gartner’s Business and Technology Insights (BTI) group, establishing oneself as a credible voice within their designated market at local, regional and global levels.

Utilizing exceptional research and analytical skills, a Director plays a significant role in producing pragmatic and provocative insights which Gartner clients consume and apply to propel their business toward key objectives. They are a trusted source of advice for clients, reinforcing Gartner’s value every day by engaging them via in-person meetings, virtual meetings, sales support visits and Gartner conferences to discuss complex client challenges and offer appropriate recommendations.

For this specific role, Gartner is seeking a Quality Leadership Analyst focused on the intersection of quality management, supply chain, and business objectives. This role will serve Quality Leaders, CSCOs, and senior supply chain executives from end-user organizations, as well as heads of strategy and product leaders within large services and technology providers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Researching, writing, and advising on the evolving role and function of quality especially as it relates to and fits into supply chain – topics include but not limited to culture of quality, quality as a business driver, quality org design, quality talent, quality metrics and KPIs, QMS both process and technology, among other assigned writing topics
  • Advising business and supply chain executives on best practices for selecting, implementing, and optimizing quality management process and technology solutions to drive operational excellence and support mission-critical priorities.
  • Contributing to Gartner-wide research initiatives, including the development of frameworks and models that illustrate the impact of quality on supply chain performance, such as Magic Quadrants, Critical Capabilities, and Hype Cycles.
  • Delivering presentations, both virtually and in person, to large audiences, translating complex quality and supply chain concepts into actionable insights for executive stakeholders.
  • Supporting Sales in the sales cycle by articulating the value of quality leadership and its impact on supply chain and business outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Significant experience developing, leading, or managing quality management programs, with proven expertise in connecting quality objectives to supply chain strategies and broader business goals.
  • Direct experience working with or for a Chief Supply Chain Officer (CSCO), or in close partnership with supply chain leadership, to drive quality initiatives that deliver measurable business impact.
  • A robust understanding of key supply chain processes (e.g., S&OP, IBP, Demand/Supply Planning) and how quality management systems support and enhance these processes.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: 1) a large end-user organization 2) a consultancy 3) a vendor focused on quality or supply chain technology.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and data visualization skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to executive audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an agile, strategic mindset capable of connecting the dots between quality, technology, supply chain trends, and business models.
  • Proven ability to engage and advise senior business and supply chain executives, including CSCOs and heads of quality.
  • Experience leading or contributing to cross-functional projects involving quality and supply chain teams.
  • Confidence and presence in executive-level presentations and discussions.
  • Self-motivation, drive, and a strong work ethic.

What you’ll need:

  • 10+ years' experience with 8+ years in quality management, supply chain, or related fields in increasingly senior roles.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating quality management systems with supply chain operations and business objectives.
  • Communication skills as evidenced by prior work experience presenting to or advising senior executives, investors, boards, or industry peers.
  • Strong project and time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • An appropriate bachelor’s degree; a master’s level qualification and professional certification (e.g., ASQ, APICS, Six Sigma) are preferred.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 148,000 USD - 175,500 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
