Reporting to the Head of Total Rewards, the Director of Benefits is responsible for providing leadership and direction for the functional design and administration for Chewy's health and welfare, retirement, wellbeing, leave, accommodations, and time away plans and programs. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in benefits design, principles, and practices, and can collaborate across HR, Finance, and Legal and in partnership with business leaders to ensure plans are fit for purpose, competitive, compliant, and resonate with team members. This leader directly manages two people leaders and has remit for the larger health, welfare and retirement, as well as leave, time off, and accommodations benefits teams.

The base salary range for this role is $170,500 - $271,500.00.

What you'll do:
- Creates forward looking strategy for all benefits plans and programs.
- Serves as subject matter expert and advisor to Senior Leadership on all benefits matters.
- Scales the administration of all benefits plans and programs to ensure efficient operations while keeping the team member's experience front and center.
- Regularly assesses benefits offerings to balance market competitiveness and spend.
- Closely monitors team member sentiment to ensure resonance and applicability of all plans and programs.
- Partners with external advisers and legal counsel to ensure that all benefits are compliant with all federal and local government regulations.
- Implement a communications strategy to ensure programs are understood and effectively utilized.
- Acts as a subject matter expert to the Investment Committee for retirement plans ensuring that adequate processes and controls are in place to meet the Company's fiduciary responsibility.
- Position may require travel.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree preferably in HR or related discipline.
- Master's degree and/or benefits certification a plus.
- 20+ years of progressive experience in Benefits, with 10+ years in a leadership role, focused on Benefits plan design and administration, and 5+ years leading Benefits for a large organization.
- Demonstrated strong communication and influencing skills evidenced through experience partnering with senior level executives across HR, Finance, Legal, and the C-suite to implement new plans and/or changes to existing plans.
The base salary range for this role is $170,500 - $271,500.00.
- The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.
