The world of digital retail media, music, and television is in the midst of explosive growth as brick-and-mortar businesses seek to create savvy, personalized, and engaging experiences for their customers, patrons, and members.

And Rockbot wants the same.

We’re seeking an agency-grade Director of Brand and Creative Services who sets—and defends—an uncompromising standard of excellence and innovation for our brand. As our creative leader, you will help us re-express a well-defined and articulated brand identity that is evolving rapidly as we grow, scale and innovate. This role requires a rare blend of visionary thinking and hands-on craft: someone who can architect a creative direction that stands up to scrutiny, then jump into the work to ensure every detail meets the highest bar.

Reporting directly to the SVP of Marketing, you’ll be responsible for delivering top-grade visual storytelling that elevates and energizes our brand, deepens market differentiation, and resonates through every channel—from major campaigns to the smallest design element. If you thrive on creating standout work, reimagining brands as they grow, and fiercely protecting creative integrity, this role is for you.

This is a true player-coach role that blends creative vision, brand stewardship, team leadership, and hands-on craft. Your time will be thoughtfully balanced across:

  • 20% Creative Direction & Brand Evolution: shaping the future of the Rockbot brand and setting the creative standard across the business
  • 20% Hands-On Creative Execution: rolling up your sleeves to bring ideas to life and elevate key deliverables
  • 20% Team Leadership & Creative Mentorship: inspiring, developing, and raising the bar for creative talent
  • 20% Campaign Development & Visual Storytelling: conceiving and delivering memorable, high-impact brand moments
  • 10% Creative Operations & Systems: building scalable processes that enable exceptional work at speed
  • 10% Agency & External Partner Leadership: directing and managing creative partners to ensure excellence and consistency

This role is ideal for a creative leader who is equally energized by defining the vision, developing great talent, and personally shaping the work that brings a brand to life.

You will have the freedom (and responsibility) to accelerate a brand that is in a transformation stage, and have the ability to leave a lasting creative mark on a high-growth tech company. You’ll join a marketing leadership team committed to creative excellence and long-term brand building, in an environment where high standards, originality, and bold ideas are valued and expected.

Yours will be the defining, strategic voice in:

Brand Leadership & Evolution

  • Own the Rockbot brand identity and continuously evolve it to match the company’s trajectory, product innovation, and market momentum.
  • Set and uphold a creative benchmark that reflects excellence across all expressions of the brand.
  • Reimagine the brand system as the company grows—ensuring it remains modern, coherent, and differentiated.
  • Act as the brand’s guardian, confidently defending creative decisions with strategic clarity and expert rationale.

Creative Direction & Craft

  • Lead the creation of visually compelling, story-driven campaigns that communicate our value with sophistication and emotional impact.
  • Oversee concepting and execution for web, product launches, video, digital, content, and experiential—always raising the bar.
  • Maintain an exacting eye for design, narrative consistency, and creative craft across all assets.
  • Roll up your sleeves and contribute hands-on design, direction, and refinement to key deliverables.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Partner with Marketing, Product, Sales, and Executive teams to ensure creative direction is aligned with business strategy and growth.
  • Mentor, motivate, and elevate internal creatives while establishing scalable creative processes and brand systems.
  • Manage agency partners and freelancers to deliver consistently excellent work.
  • Present creative work with conviction—grounded in insight, strategy, and brand principles.

Your domain expertise should include:

  • 7–12+ years of creative experience with top-tier agency training and deep expertise in the tech industry, with preference to experience in SaaS-based businesses similar in stage to Rockbot
  • A portfolio that showcases world-class visual storytelling, brand evolution, and integrated campaign work.
  • A reputation for demanding excellence—both in conceptual thinking and executional detail.
  • Ability to build, adapt, and scale brand systems that evolve alongside fast-growth companies.
  • Hands-on mastery of design craft, supported by strong conceptual, editorial, and narrative instincts.
  • Strong leadership presence, with the ability to inspire teams and champion bold creative.
  • Expertise with core creative tools (Figma, Adobe CC, etc.) and a passion for staying ahead of design trends.
