What does a Director, Converged TV do at Rain?

  • Lead strategic direction across converged TV and digital video initiatives, connecting audience, channel, investment, activation, and measurement decisions to client business goals
    • Champion CTV and digital video innovation across planning, buying, activation, optimization, reporting, and marketplace development
      • Develop clear points of view on ad tech, publisher developments, video consumption trends, measurement, currency, and emerging opportunities in the CTV marketplace
      • Shape the vision and planning approach for digital video, including how CTV complements broader media strategy and the consumer journey
    • Create scalable best practices, process improvements, educational materials, and automation opportunities that strengthen the practice
    • Provide leadership, coaching, and oversight to members of the Digital Video team, including Associate Directors, Supervisors, and Specialists
    • Build trusted relationships with senior clients, internal stakeholders, media partners, and ad tech partners
    • Oversee the development of effective performance and brand-building strategies across CTV and digital video
    • Translate complex marketplace, platform, and measurement developments into clear guidance for internal teams and clients
    • Partner with cross-channel planning teams to evaluate audiences, historical performance, scorecards, and client-specific needs to recommend the strongest video investment approach
    • Oversee internal processes and QA workflows to ensure campaigns are launched accurately, efficiently, and on time
    • Report on practice performance, progress against goals, marketplace learnings, and future strategies with agency leadership
    • Manage and evolve digital video processes so they remain current, effective, and consistently adopted across the practice
    • Align programmatic video initiatives with broader marketing, media, measurement, and business objectives
    • Bring fluency in major DSPs and platforms, including The Trade Desk, DV360, Amazon, Yahoo, Viant, and other relevant CTV and digital video partners
    • Ensure the quality of strategy, planning, activation, and reporting consistently meets Rain’s standards
  • Help grow Rain’s converged TV practice by identifying new service opportunities, strengthening partner relationships, supporting new business efforts, and advancing internal education

What makes a great Director, Converged TV at our agency?

  • Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 8+ years of hands-on media experience, with a strong focus on digital video planning, CTV strategy, and campaign activation
  • Strong understanding of platform and publisher relationships, data targeting capabilities, buy types, inventory options, and the evolving CTV ecosystem
  • Experience working with DSPs, CTV publishers, measurement partners, currency solutions, trafficking workflows, reporting outputs, and performance insights
  • Ability to analyze performance data, identify meaningful storylines, and communicate recommendations clearly to clients and internal teams
  • A collaborative leadership style with experience mentoring, developing, and managing team members
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for ad tech, video innovation, new marketplace models, and the changing way audiences consume television and video content
  • Strong project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance strategic leadership with operational excellence

Target Base Salary: $133,000 - $171,000

Base salary is determined based on a wide range of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, job duties, and needs of the business. Base salary is one part of our total compensation package, which includes benefits, perks, and a profit-sharing bonus.
