What You’ll Do
- Team capacity planning and hiring: define roles, manage recruitment, interviewing, make hiring decisions, oversee onboarding.
- Hold regular team and one-on-one meetings.
- Leadership oversight and performance management for technical leads.
- Team-building activities.
- Manage personnel (dismissals, promotions, leave authorizations, bonuses, compensation).
- Regular performance reviews, address performance issues, and develop PIPs.
- Run regular grooming sessions.
- Assign and monitor engineering tasks.
- Provide technical validation (code review, quality assessment, and release authorization); serve as an escalation point for critical issues.
- Guide architectural design and technical decisions for integration projects.
- Define and enforce team-wide engineering standards.
- Oversee infrastructure architecture and security for distributed systems processing sensitive payroll, financial, and PII data in SOC 2-compliant environments.
- Lead design and implementation of data quality monitoring systems for payroll accuracy.
- Oversee project planning, execution, and timely completion.
- Task prioritization, track improvements in business metrics, identify blockers.
- Represent the engineering team in client-facing technical discussions.
- Telecommuting/Work-From-Home within the U.S.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Aviation Technology, or related technical field and five years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or Backend Developer.
- Knowledge of PII compliance frameworks and secure coding principles.
- Proficiency in:
- Python development, distributed backend architecture, API design, performance optimization.
- Relational databases.
- Major cloud platform deployment.
- Experience with:
- Designing authorized data extraction systems; API reverse-engineering, browser automation, anti-automation mitigation in compliant, user-authorized environments.
- Handling sensitive financial data.
- Implementing observability systems.
- Data quality monitoring with alerting for production environments.
- Implementing data validation and verification techniques, including heuristic or statistical methods for cross-source data validation of financial information.
- Leading technical projects from design to release.
- Establishing, enforcing engineering standards, code review workflows, and development best practices.
- Cross-functional collaboration: translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Technical interviewing.
- Chrome DevTools Protocol (CDP).
- LLM-based autonomous agents and workflows for data processing.
