Director of Engineering

We’re looking for an experienced and inspiring engineering leader to guide our talented, cross-functional teams in building world-class software at scale using a modern tech stack. You’ll help shape our engineering culture, drive technical excellence, and ensure predictable, high-quality delivery across a remote organization.

You’ll combine deep technical expertise with a strong people-first approach—earning the trust of your teams while enabling them to do the best work of their careers.

You’ll partner with product, VP of Engineering, and operations leaders to align engineering execution with business priorities, balancing speed and innovation with stability and sustainability.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and inspire teams: Lead and mentor managers and individual contributors (global team), cultivating a collaborative, high-performance culture

• Shape Technical Vision: Translate strategy into clear, actionable execution plans with measurable outcomes.

• Deliver exceptional outcomes: Ensure delivery of secure, scalable, and reliable enterprise software

• Optimize Processes: Build scalable systems that support continuous iteration, rapid testing, and quality

• Collaborate cross functionally: Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to design innovative solutions to complex challenges.

• Grow Talent: Drive recruitment, retention, and professional development of top engineering talent

• Champion Technology: Advocate for tools and practices that maximize team impact while staying pragmatic and results-focused (you'll be comfortable diving deeply into a stack mostly composed of Typescript, Next.js deployed on AWS ECS with RDS.
  

About you

• Proven success leading engineering organizations delivering large-scale SaaS or enterprise software products.

• Experience managing distributed teams and delivering results across multiple time zones.

• Strong technical background and systems-level understanding that commands the respect of engineering teams.

• Solid grasp of modern architecture principles and patterns with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.

• Demonstrated ability to scale products and teams while maintaining a high standard for uptime, quality, and performance.

• A leadership style that balances urgency and accountability with empathy and team well-being.

• Track record of building healthy, sustainable engineering cultures that foster innovation and retain top talent.

• Ability to work 8 to 5 EST hours on most days
