We are seeking a Director, Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A) to drive the strategy, governance, and people that power evidence-based decision-making across Stantec. Joining the Enterprise Software Solutions (ESS) leadership team, you will lead a globally distributed group of analytics professionals, architects, developers and partner with senior stakeholders across Finance, HR, Project Deliver Office, Marketing & Business Development, Corporate Development, HSSE, and Practice Services.

This is a high-impact role that blends enterprise strategy, data governance, people leadership, and AI/ML-augmented analytics, designed for a leader who combines analytical depth with strong business judgment. You bring a thoughtful, collaborative approach to leadership and apply strategic and analytical insight to enable informed, high‑quality decisions across the organization. You actively seek opportunities to strengthen how data and analytics support business outcomes, while continuing to elevate enterprise analytics capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnership & Delivery

  • Serve as a trusted senior advisor to business leaders translating strategic questions into actionable, insight-driven solutions by framing complex issues, synthesizing information, and guiding leaders toward practical, evidence‑based choices.
  • Ensure analytics initiatives are outcome-oriented, delivering measurable decision support and business value.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships, manage stakeholder demand and expectations transparently, and maintain clear alignment between business priorities and team capacity
  • Partner with teams such as Integrated Business Applications, Enterprise Architecture, Security, and Infrastructure teams to ensure platforms are secure, scalable, and cost-effective.
  • Rationalize tools and platforms thoughtfully — balancing innovation with enterprise standards, operability, and long-term sustainability.
  • Communicate with confidence and credibility, clearly articulating insights, recommendations, and implications to senior leaders and executive audiences to support well‑informed decision‑making.

Delivery and Execution

  • Establish and continuously mature the ED&A operating model including stakeholder demand intake, prioritization, a service catalog, and delivery standards.
  • Ensure delivery excellence across scope, schedule, budget, and quality by setting clear expectations and reinforcing accountability for results.
  • Collaborate with business and IT leaders to strengthen data governance, quality, and stewardship practices
  • Collaborate with other senior leaders and stakeholders to define a data and analytics strategy aligned to Stantec's business priorities and digital roadmap with a focus on translating strategic intent into scalable, value‑driven analytics initiatives.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to apply AI/ML and advanced analytics capabilities including predictive modeling, forecasting, and natural language interfaces to enhance decision support and improve organizational effectiveness in a practical, sustainable manner.

Qualifications

Key Capabilities

Successful candidates will demonstrate strength across the following:

  • People Leadership — Experience building, coaching, and developing diverse, distributed teams Business Acumen — Ability to connect analytics outcomes directly to organizational strategy and financial or operational performance
  • Data & Analytics Strategy — Ability to develop and execute a coherent, enterprise-scale analytics strategy tied to business outcomes
  • Operating Model Design — Experience building or transforming analytics operating models including intake, governance, and service delivery
  • Data Governance — Deep understanding of data quality, stewardship, and metadata management practices
  • Platform Stewardship — Proven leadership over enterprise analytics platforms and ecosystems (e.g., cloud analytics, BI tooling, data services)
  • Cloud & Modern Data Architecture — Familiarity with cloud-native analytics platforms and modern data architecture patterns
  • Self-Service Enablement — Track record of enabling non-technical users through governed self-service BI and analytics solutions
  • Delivery & Prioritization — Disciplined approach to managing a portfolio of analytics initiatives with competing priorities and finite capacity
  • Stakeholder Influence — Ability to engage, advise, and influence senior business and IT leaders 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise data, analytics, business intelligence, or related disciplines
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Data Science, Business, Engineering, or equivalent); an advanced degree is an asset
  • Proven experience defining and executing analytics strategy in a complex, global organization
  • Experience leading distributed, multi-disciplinary teams within matrixed environments
  • Strong grounding in enterprise data architecture, analytics platforms, and self-service BI principles
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with senior stakeholders and translate business needs into scalable technical outcomes

About the Team
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
