We work across UKG, SAP, and a growing set of technology partners, serving more than 500 clients with a 90% retention rate. We partner with clients to deliver measurable business outcomes while empowering our team to grow, lead, and create meaningful impact.

The Opportunity

Due to our rapid growth, we are looking for a remote Director of IT to lead the next stage of our technology and security strategy. As our global team grows, we need someone who can strengthen the foundation we have, improve what needs to scale, and keep technology easy for people to use.

This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong focus on security, SOC compliance, and practical IT operations. You’ll set direction, lead the work, and grow the function over time. We’re looking for someone who can bring structure where it helps without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.

What you’ll do:

  • Own the IT strategy, roadmap, and budget, working closely with the COO and business leaders to prioritize investments as Mosaic grows.
  • Lead our security program, including risk management, access controls, incident response, employee awareness, and oversight of vendors and systems.
  • Manage SOC compliance and audits, keeping controls, evidence, and remediation work organized throughout the year.
  • Oversee reliable, responsive IT support for employees across our global workforce, with a consistent experience across locations and time zones.
  • Improve the processes and systems behind onboarding, offboarding, device management, identity and access, and day-to-day support.
  • Assess our technology environment and make thoughtful improvements to scalability, integration, documentation, and resilience.
  • Build and develop the IT function, deciding where to add internal capacity, where to use partners, and how to maintain clear ownership.
  • Partner with teams exploring AI tools and automation, helping Mosaic adopt them in ways that are useful, secure, and appropriate for our data and clients.
  • Translate technical risks and recommendations into clear choices for leaders.

What makes you successful:

Need to haves:

  • 8+ years of progressive IT experience, including experience leading an IT function, team, or significant area of responsibility.
  • Experience supporting a global workforce and managing IT needs across countries and time zones.
  • A strong security background, with experience assessing risk, putting effective controls in place, and responding to security issues.
  • Experience overseeing cloud applications, identity and access management, endpoint management, IT support, and technology vendors.
  • A track record of improving IT systems and processes as an organization grows.
  • The ability to set a strategy, stay close to the work, and communicate clearly with technical and nontechnical colleagues.

 Nice to haves:

  • Experience managing SOC compliance, audit preparation, or a comparable security assurance program.
  • Experience building or expanding an IT team and deciding when to use external partners.
  • Experience supporting a consulting or other professional services organization.
  • Experience evaluating AI tools and developing practical guidance for their secure use.
