Position Summary
The Director of Marketing will serve as a key leader within Serent’s marketing and business development organization. This role is focused on supporting the firm’s sourcing strategy; specifically driving brand visibility and engagement with prospective portfolio companies and key investment targets.
This individual will be responsible for activating and scaling top-, middle-, and bottom-of-funnel marketing programs in close partnership with the business development team to attract, engage, and convert high-potential prospects. The role is highly cross-functional, execution-focused, and metrics-driven, with a strong emphasis on strategy, leadership, and collaboration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead marketing strategy aligned with the firm's overall business development goals.
• Partner with the business development team to develop and execute targeted marketing campaigns, including ABM, gifting, email nurture, and events - tailored to the needs and interests of prospective investment targets.
• Lead top-of-funnel brand-building initiatives, including digital advertising, thematic content development, and founder-facing awareness programs.
• Execute regional and virtual events (e.g., workshops, hosted experiences, conferences) to build relationships with executives and founders of target companies.
• Manage the full lifecycle of marketing enablement, from brand awareness and lead nurturing to personalized support during diligence.
• Create and distribute thought leadership assets (e.g., case studies, webinars, founder content) and press releases to reinforce credibility and deepen engagement.
• Drive alignment between marketing and business development through enablement sessions, sales tools, and campaign coordination.
• Oversee complex marketing project timelines, from concept to launch, ensuring cross-functional alignment, timely execution, and resource coordination.
• Collaborate with sales, investment, portfolio support, and executive leadership teams to ensure alignment across all marketing initiatives.
• Monitor and report on performance metrics, including engagement scores, lead attribution, conversion rates, and ROI, using marketing analytics platforms.
• Support strategic marketing infrastructure improvements and collaborate with external vendors and partners.
Qualifications
• 5+ years of B2B marketing experience, ideally in private equity, financial services, or outbound B2B SaaS.
• Demonstrated success leading and executing marketing programs that directly support business development and sales.
• Proven ability to build and manage integrated, multi-channel campaigns across digital, content, events, and email.
• Experience working cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to deliver marketing initiatives on time and at a high standard.
• Familiarity with executive audiences, founder outreach, and high-consideration sales cycles.
• Strong writing, communication, analytical, and project management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, vendors, and stakeholders with strong attention to detail and prioritization skills.

• General LLM (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
Education
Bachelors degree required; preferred fields include Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science or Data Analytics.
