About Comet

Comet is building the development platform for teams who want to ship robust, reliable, and responsible AI applications. Opik, our open source LLM evaluation framework, has quickly become one of the most popular tools in the space. Our experiment management platform is used by data scientists at companies like Uber, Netflix, and Etsy. Tens of thousands of researchers, engineers, academics, and hobbyists use Comet every day to build the future of AI.

Working at Comet will give you access to the most exciting work being done in all areas of machine learning. Some of the top researchers and companies working on self-driving cars, drug discovery, particle research, diffusion models, and LLMs use Comet every day. Your work has the potential to accelerate the development of some of the most impactful technology in the world, and you will be doing it alongside a team of passionate, caring individuals. If that sounds exciting, Comet is the right place for you.

Comet is backed by more than $63 million in venture capital funding and powers some of the best machine-learning teams in the world, including Netflix, Uber, Etsy, and Mobileye. We are a remote-first company with offices in New York City (USA) and Tel Aviv (Israel).

The Role

We're looking for a Director of Marketing to drive Opik's go-to-market motion across product marketing, developer relations, growth, content, community, events, and brand. You'll own the strategy and the execution, and be the connective tissue between what we build and who we need to reach.

This isn't a "run campaigns and report on MQLs" role. This is a builder role. We're operating in a fast-moving, competitive space, and we need someone who can move at startup speed while building the foundations that scale.

You'll report to the COO (former VP of Marketing) and collaborate directly with the CEO, Head of Product, and CTO.

What You'll Own

Team Leadership

  • Manage and develop a seven-person marketing team spanning SEO/growth, product marketing, DevRel/community, ecosystem engineering, events & brand, and performance marketing
  • Set team priorities and OKRs; foster a culture of accountability and speed
  • Be a strong player-coach: this is a hands-on role

Go-to-Market Execution

  • Drive pipeline-generating programs in close partnership with Sales
  • Execute integrated campaigns across organic, paid, events, and content channels to maintain the TOFU momentum already established

Developer-Led Growth

  • Champion a developer-first growth approach: community, open source momentum, technical content, and bottom-up adoption
  • Partner closely with DevRel to build Opik's credibility in the AI practitioner community
  • Identify and activate high-leverage growth loops (integrations, co-marketing, partner channels)

Brand & Content

  • Elevate Opik's brand in the AI ecosystem
  • Drive a content strategy that earns attention from engineers and technical buyers
  • Own our presence at key industry conferences and events

Operations & Measurement

  • Partner with Ops on GTM tooling, attribution, and funnel metrics
  • Own the marketing budget and report performance to the COO
What You Bring
  • 6+ years of marketing experience, with at least 2 years in a marketing leadership or senior IC role
  • Deep experience in developer tools, preferably AI
  • Proven track record driving pipeline and growth at an early-to-mid stage startup
  • Strong instinct for developer-led and product-led growth: you've built for that motion before
  • A DevRel or growth background is a meaningful plus; you know how to earn developer trust, not just buy it
  • Hands-on and fast-moving; comfortable making calls with incomplete information
  • Experience managing cross-functional marketing teams
Why Comet
  • Opik is gaining meaningful traction in a market that's moving fast. We've crossed 18,000+ GitHub stars and is used by 150,000+ developers and 10,000+ teams worldwide, growing 4x a quarter, with enterprise adoption accelerating across teams — including marquee logos like Netflix, Uber, and NatWest.
  • You'll have real ownership and influence over the company's direction
  • We're a lean, high-trust team: no politics, no bureaucracy
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary - based on proven experience, skills and location
  • Competitive benefits package
  • Flexible working hours and remote work options
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development
  • A collaborative and innovative work environment
  • The chance to work with cutting-edge technologies and projects
  • This role will be located remotely in the USA, working with a global team (large presence also in Europe and Tel Aviv), some flexibility with work hours is required
