Vivent Health is seeking an innovative and results-oriented Director of Marketing to lead the strategy, execution, and performance of integrated marketing and communications initiatives that advance our mission, strengthen our brand, and drive engagement across key audiences. Reporting to the Vice President of Strategic Communications, the Director of Marketing will lead initiatives aimed at increasing awareness of Vivent Health's services and expertise, driving patient growth, philanthropy, advocacy, and community impact.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic and mission-driven marketing leader who combines strategic vision with operational excellence. They are equally comfortable developing long-term brand strategy and rolling up their sleeves to execute campaigns, analyze performance data, and solve challenges in real time. They bring a passion for healthcare equity, community impact, and storytelling, along with the leadership skills necessary to inspire teams, influence stakeholders, and advance Vivent Health's mission through meaningful and measurable marketing efforts. Success in this role requires collaborative leadership, with the ability to build alignment, foster strong cross-functional partnerships, and navigate a dynamic and growing organization serving communities across six states.

Essential Job Duties

Vision, Planning & Organizational Impact 

  •  Work with Vice President of Strategic Communications, External Affairs, and Vivent Health leadership to develop and lead execution of comprehensive marketing and communications strategies aligned with Vivent Health's mission, strategic priorities, growth objectives, and market opportunities. 
  •  Identify emerging opportunities, risks, and competitive trends to inform organizational decision-making and strengthen market position.  
  • Collaborate with cross-department teams to identify opportunities for growth and increased impact.
  •  Ensure marketing initiatives, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation align with organizational goals and priorities.  

Brand, Communications & Engagement

  • Serve as steward of the Vivent Health brand, ensuring consistent messaging and visual identity across all channels.
  • Lead integrated campaigns spanning digital, social, email, advertising, public relations, website, and print communications.
  • Develop compelling content and storytelling strategies that elevate awareness, engagement, and organizational impact.
  • Support donor engagement and fundraising efforts through strategic communications and campaign development.

Project & Performance Management

  • Oversee the planning and execution of marketing initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Manage project workflows, priorities, external partners, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Establish performance metrics and reporting frameworks to evaluate effectiveness, optimize campaigns, and demonstrate impact.
  • Utilize market research, audience insights, and analytics to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.

Team Leadership

  • Oversee operations, budgeting, and resource planning for the Marketing & Communications Department.
  • Establish clear goals, accountability, and performance expectations while fostering professional growth and development.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

Required and preferred knowledge and experiences to succeed. 

  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Work Experience
    • Minimum of 8 years of progressive marketing and communications leadership experience, preferably within healthcare, public health, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations.
    • Minimum of 2+ years of experience leading and developing people; fostering a collaborative, mission driven team environment that supports high quality care and community impact.
    • Proven track record of managing complex marketing budgets, including forecasting, allocation, and ROI analysis, while leading the planning and execution of large-scale, multi-channel marketing initiatives that drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and measurable business results.
    • Experience in media relations, public relations, reputation management, and crisis communications preferred.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Exceptional strategic thinking, communication, storytelling, and content development skills.
    • Demonstrated project management excellence.
    • Strong expertise in brand management, integrated marketing, audience engagement, and demand generation.
    • Demonstrated ability to leverage analytics, market research, and audience insights to inform strategy, optimize performance, and measure results.
    • Proven project management, organizational, and budget management skills. with the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to build consensus, influence stakeholders, and collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
    • Excellent leadership, coaching, and talent development skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to balance leadership with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.
    • Additional Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master's degree or MBA preferred.
    • HIV experience in a not-for-profit environment.

Pay Rate

$115,000/annually - $125,000/annually (Depending on Experience)

The final salary will be determined based on factors such as market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications. Please note that it is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range.
