We are seeking a strategic and technically adept Product Line Leader to drive the evolution of our Intelligent Access portfolio built on the AXOS platform managed by Calix Operations Cloud and SMx. Initially focused on taking E9-2 and E3-2 systems the next steps, commercializing ASM network solutions, and leading interoperability initiatives across ONTs, PON technologies, and third-party systems. This role is pivotal in shaping product strategy, defining requirements, and ensuring seamless integration across diverse network environments.
This is a remote-based position located in the United States or Canada. Please note that as part of the recruitment and hiring process, there is an in-person meeting that will take place.

What you will do in this role:

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define and execute the product vision for E9 and E3 systems, aligning with Calix’s Intelligent Access EDGE strategy.
  • Drive commercialization of Calix Aggregation Service Manager (ASM)
  • Work with Calix Operations Cloud, Service Manager connector (SMx) and Performance Test teams to define end to end customer solutions 
  • Lead product lifecycle activities ranging from product concept to end of life.
  • Define and monitor key business metrics for E9 and E3 systems, with a focus on accurate forecasting, improving revenue and margin, and reducing total cost of ownership for Calix systems
  • Lead cross-functional planning for interoperability across ONTs, PON variants (GPON, XGS-PON, NG-PON2, 50G PON), and third-party vendor systems. 

Requirements and Use Case Definition

  • Collaborate with Product Line Leadership (PLL), engineering, marketing, sales, and support teams to articulate detailed product requirements and use cases. 
  • Own the requirements and use case documentation, ensuring alignment with feasibility studies and customer proposals.

Interoperability Leadership

  • Drive OMCI and ONT interoperability testing and resolution, working closely with development and sales teams.
  • Coordinate with labs and field teams to validate third-party ONT behavior and ensure compliance with Calix standards.
  • Work with Calix Operations Cloud and Aggregation Service Manager teams to define solutions for multivendor networks 

Customer Engagement

  • Support strategic customer proposals by translating technical capabilities into compelling value propositions. 
  • Represent Calix in customer meetings, RFP responses, and interoperability forums.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with hardware and software engineering to guide architecture decisions and resolve field issues.
  • Work with marketing and sales to position E9/E3 capabilities effectively in competitive contexts.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of product management experience in telecom or networking, with a focus on access systems. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering  

  • Deep understanding of PON technologies, ONT/OLT interoperability, and software-defined access platforms. 

  • Experience with Layer 3 edge routing capabilities 

  • Experience with both Telco and MSO network architectures and needs. 

  • Familiarity with the Calix AXOS platform and Calix Intelligent Access EDGE portfolio. 

  • Knowledge of industry standards (ITU/FSAN) and participation in interoperability labs. 

  • Familiarity with AI principles and uses of AI in networking system

The base pay range for this position varies based on the geographic location. More information about the pay range specific to candidate location and other factors will be shared during the recruitment process. Individual pay is determined based on location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
