📍Location

We’re fully remote and welcome candidates from across the US. We get together a few times a year for company offsites where we build stronger relationships, kick off important work, and genuinely enjoy spending time together.

💼 Job Summary

We're looking for a Director of Product Marketing to own how we talk about Cortex in the market. You'll craft the positioning and messaging that resonates with engineering leaders, drive critical product launches, and arm our sales team with everything they need to bring in new customers. This role sits at the intersection of Product, Sales, and Marketing, translating technical capabilities into business value that engineering leaders care about. You'll report to the VP of Strategic Initiatives and have the opportunity to build a team as we scale.

💻 Responsibilities
  • Own Cortex's product marketing strategy, including positioning, messaging, and competitive differentiation that drives pipeline and revenue
  • Build sales enablement programs that work, including pitch decks, battle cards, demo scripts, objection handling, and proof points that help reps close deals faster
  • Create customer-facing assets including case studies, whitepapers, solution briefs, and website content that communicate clear business value
  • Lead competitive intelligence efforts, tracking how competitors position themselves and arming the team with differentiated messaging
  • Develop deep customer insights through win/loss analysis, customer interviews, and market research to refine our ICP and buying journey
  • Partner with Customer Success on expansion and upsell messaging for existing customers
  • Partner with product to shape roadmap priorities based on market insights and translate new features into compelling narratives that drive adoption
  • Lead product launches end-to-end, ensuring Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success are aligned and equipped to drive results
  • Drive analyst relations strategy and manage relationships with Gartner, Forrester, and other key industry analysts
  • Measure and report on the impact of product marketing activities on pipeline, win rates, and revenue
  • Build and mentor a high-performing product marketing function as we continue to grow
✔️Qualifications
  • 8+ years in product marketing at a B2B SaaS company; developer tools, infrastructure, or platform software experience strongly preferred
  • Proven track record owning positioning and messaging that directly influenced pipeline and revenue growth
  • Deep understanding of technical buyers (CTOs, VPs of Engineering, Platform/DevOps Engineers) and complex enterprise sales cycles
  • Excellent storytelling ability with a knack for translating technical concepts into business value
  • Strong sales enablement background; you know what Sales needs to win and how to deliver it
  • Data-driven approach to decision making with ability to tie marketing activities to business outcomes
  • Experience conducting customer research, competitive analysis, and market segmentation
  • Experience launching products that developers and engineering leaders actually care about
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and proven ability to influence without authority
  • Ability to move fast, prioritize ruthlessly, and deliver results in a dynamic startup environment

Nice to have:

  • Technical background or hands-on experience as an engineer, technical writer, or in developer relations
  • Experience at a high-growth startup through a key inflection point (Series B to IPO)
  • Background managing or mentoring product marketers
  • Experience with developer communities and marketing to technical audiences
💰 Compensation
  • Starting Salary Range: $205,000 - $245,000
  • Competitive Equity Package
