Position Summary

We are looking for a product leader to own and grow CRIO's EDC, eSource, and Integrations product lines, with a mandate to make our eSource-to-sponsor-EDC integration the best in the industry.

The ideal candidate is energetic, self-motivated, hands-on, data-driven, and passionate about achieving strong outcomes for our customers and sponsors. You will lead the EDC, eSource, and Integrations teams, own the roadmap for our existing sponsor EDC integration, and define what "best in class" looks like for the future of eSource-to-EDC connectivity in clinical research. In addition, the ideal candidate has extensive experience working with executive leadership, sponsors, and cross-functional teams within an Agile organization, and can bridge company strategy with hands-on execution across a portfolio of interconnected products.

NOTE: The EDC, eSource, and Integrations teams reflect this role's current scope. As CRIO's product portfolio grows, the specific teams and responsibilities under this role may evolve over time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Strategy and Sponsor EDC Integration Vision: Own the product strategy for the EDC, eSource, and Integrations portfolio, and define and champion the strategic vision for a best-in-class integration between CRIO's eSource platform and sponsor EDC systems, translating that vision into an executable roadmap at the annual and quarterly level.
  • Team Leadership and Talent Development: Build, lead, and grow a high-performing team of product owners across each team; attract and retain top product talent, and develop future product leaders through coaching and clear growth paths.
  • Cross-Team Portfolio Leadership: Lead product planning and execution across each team in close partnership with the engineering manager who leads the same teams, coordinating dependencies, budgets, and resourcing to ensure cohesive, non-duplicative delivery.
  • Executive and Sponsor-Facing Communication: Represent the product strategy to executive leadership, the board, and enterprise sponsors; present roadmaps, business cases, and KPI results in a clear, compelling, and data-driven way.
  • Market and Competitive Intelligence: Serve as the internal expert on the sponsor EDC landscape (e.g., systems such as Medidata Rave and Veeva EDC) and eClinical integration standards, and bring that expertise into strategy and roadmap decisions.
  • KPI Ownership and Data-Driven Decision-Making: Partner with senior leadership to define, quantify, and track the KPIs that determine the success of the sponsor EDC integration offering; use data, customer feedback, and market research to guide decisions and demonstrate ROI.
  • Cross-Functional Stakeholder Alignment: Build and maintain strategic relationships with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and sponsor/CRO partners to align priorities and drive adoption of the roadmap.
  • Design Partnership and UX Quality: Partner closely with design to ensure product requirements for each team's experience are clear and complete, and that resulting designs follow strong UX practices and deliver a cohesive, high-quality user experience.
  • Change Management: Lead adoption of new integration capabilities holistically, accounting for process, systems, data flows, documentation, and stakeholder communication across internal teams and external sponsors.
  • Portfolio and Backlog Governance: Oversee prioritization frameworks and backlog governance across each team, ensuring committed milestones are met while balancing near-term commitments with the long-term integration vision.
  • Risk and Trade-off Management: Identify, communicate, and mitigate product, technical, and compliance risk related to data exchange with sponsor systems, and own the outcomes of difficult trade-off decisions.
  • Mentorship Across the Team: Mentor product owners on each team, elevate their strategic and analytical capabilities, and build product management maturity and best practices across the group.
  • Agile and Delivery Excellence: Champion agile best practices across each team and partner with engineering leadership on release planning, capacity, and continuous improvement.
  • Customer and Sponsor Advocacy: Engage directly with sponsors, CROs, and sites using or evaluating the integration, translating their feedback and workflow needs into product strategy and priorities.

QualificationsRequired
  • 8+ years' experience in software product management or product ownership, including 3+ years in a people-management or director-level capacity, with direct experience on EDC, eSource, or clinical data integration products
  • Proven track record building, leading, and developing high-performing product teams, including managing multiple product lines simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to translate company strategy into departmental goals for a sponsor EDC integration, and to define and track the KPIs that measure success
  • Strong executive presence, with experience presenting to and influencing C-suite executives, sponsors, or enterprise customers
  • Deep expertise in agile/scrum methodologies at scale, including experience overseeing multiple concurrent teams
  • Strong technical depth in APIs, data integration/interoperability patterns, and sponsor EDC systems (e.g., Medidata Rave, Veeva EDC), paired with the business acumen to prioritize trade-offs
  • Experience with budget ownership, resource planning, and headcount planning across multiple product lines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging engineers, sponsors, and executives alike
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strategic relationships internally and externally, including with sponsors and enterprise customers
  • Experience recruiting, hiring, and retaining top product talent
  • Experience partnering with product owners to ensure product requirements are thorough, well-informed by user research, and cover the full scope of user and business needs
  • Experience with product discovery methodologies and frameworks
  • Background scaling an integration or data-platform product from early stage to a mature, widely adopted offering
  • Bachelor's degree or comparable experience in business or product management

  • Deep understanding of eClinical vendor systems and workflows
