Incline Insurance Group is seeking a Director of Program Management to lead oversight and strategic management of assigned Managing General Agent (MGA) programs within the Commercial & Specialty Lines portfolio. Reporting to the Vice President of Commercial & Specialty Lines, this role carries significant responsibility for program profitability, underwriting discipline, portfolio construction, and long-term growth.


The Director serves as a senior portfolio leader, partnering closely with MGA executives and internal stakeholders to ensure programs align with Incline’s risk appetite, capital strategy, and financial objectives.


About the Commercial & Specialty Lines Team

The Commercial & Specialty Lines team is responsible for portfolio construction, program selection, underwriting oversight, and profitability management across Incline’s program business. The team partners with actuarial, reinsurance, finance, regulatory, and FINPRO stakeholders to ensure disciplined growth and sustainable returns.


The Director of Program Management plays a key leadership role in shaping the performance and strategic direction of the program portfolio.


What You’ll Do

As Director, Program Management, you will lead oversight of assigned programs while contributing to broader portfolio strategy and risk management initiatives.


Portfolio Leadership & Profitability: Own the financial performance of assigned programs, including premium growth, loss ratio, and expense management.  Monitor and proactively manage underwriting performance, identifying trends and implementing corrective action plans when needed.  Provide strategic direction to MGA partners to drive sustainable profitability and disciplined growth.  Evaluate risk/return trade-offs and make portfolio recommendations aligned with Incline’s risk appetite.

Program Selection & Due Diligence: Lead due diligence efforts for new program opportunities, coordinating cross-functional reviews across underwriting, actuarial, reinsurance, finance, and legal teams.  Assess underwriting guidelines, pricing adequacy, operational capabilities, and growth strategy of prospective MGAs.  Contribute to negotiation of contract terms and program structures.

Reinsurance & Capital Alignment: Partner with the Director of Reinsurance to support treaty placements for new and renewing programs.  Ensure reinsurance structures appropriately reflect underlying risk characteristics and profitability expectations.  Maintain alignment between program oversight and reinsurance partner expectations.

Actuarial & Regulatory Partnership: Collaborate with actuarial teams to evaluate pricing adequacy, monitor rate needs, and review program financial results.  Oversee coordination of rate, form, and rule filings with MGAs to support compliance and profitability.  Review regulatory audit findings and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.

Underwriting Governance & Risk Oversight: Conduct underwriting file reviews to ensure adherence to approved guidelines and risk selection standards.  Oversee referral authority frameworks and adjust thresholds based on performance and oversight requirements.  Provide underwriting and product insights to strengthen program positioning and competitiveness.

Relationship & Market Leadership: Build and maintain executive-level relationships with MGA leadership teams.  Represent Incline in program-related discussions and industry engagements.  Serve as a senior voice within Commercial & Specialty Lines on portfolio management strategy.


What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a senior insurance professional with deep underwriting and portfolio management expertise who can balance growth, profitability, and risk oversight in a program-driven environment.


Experience: 10+ years of experience in commercial or personal lines underwriting, portfolio management, or delegated authority program oversight.  Demonstrated experience managing profitable books of business or MGA programs.  Experience across multiple lines of business strongly preferred.  Experience working within or alongside reinsurance and actuarial functions preferred.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

Technical & Business Expertise: Strong understanding of underwriting principles, portfolio construction, and insurance financial drivers.  Ability to analyze program financials, rate adequacy, and loss ratio trends.  Familiarity with reinsurance structures, treaty placements, and delegated authority models preferred.

Leadership & Core Competencies: Strong executive presence and negotiation skills.  Strategic thinker with the ability to connect underwriting decisions to capital and financial outcomes.  Ability to independently manage complex portfolios and competing priorities.  Proven ability to influence both internal stakeholders and external partners.

This role is based in Austin, TX and operates within a hybrid work model.
