ROLE TITLE: Director, Program Support (Temporary)

POSITION REPORTS TO: Veronica Diaz

LOCATION:  Austin, TX

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This role is a temporary position and is projected to end at the end of our fiscal year, May 31, 2026.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As the Manager, Program Support, you will support the Austin corps region as we welcome the 2026 corps. You will play a key role in supporting current corps members while also supporting the summer Corps Member learning experience (regionally known as Pre-Service) aimed at supporting Corps Members in:

  • Operating with excellence in the teacher role

  • Growing their network of partners in education

  • Building their understanding of the education landscape in Austin

The ideal candidate will have experience managing operations and communications for multiple concurrent projects.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Project Management (60%) 

  • Serve as a project manager for assigned work, with responsibilities to include: 

  • Participate in team meetings of various needs. Taking notes on action items and updating operations plans. In between meetings, communicate, assign and track team members towards outcomes.

  • Develop, plan, and execute regional events

  • Support the team in planning Pre-Service events and activities 

  • Operate in a hybrid work environment and be responsive as necessary to in-person meetings and events

Communications (40%) 

  • Plan, execute, and evaluate communication plans for corps members, alumni, and partners

  • Support communication to incoming corps members as they transition to Pre-Service in May

A WEEK IN THE LIFE

Over the course of any week, the Director, Pre-Service Support will spend time: 

  • Working alongside the Managing Director, Leadership Development to support current corps members

  • Supporting incoming corps members as they transition to the corps

  • Supporting the team’s preparations for Pre-Service 

YOUR EXPERIENCE

Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role (minimum qualifications): 

  • Background in K-12 education, preferably with experience in classroom teaching

  • Familiarity with teacher preparation programs and educator training

BONUS (preferred qualifications) 

  • Prior experience working with Teach For America alumni

  • Prior experience working at Teach For America Pre-Service, VSTT, or Summer Institute 

YOUR FUTURE TEAM

In this role, you’ll be partnering with the TFA Greater Austin team. Your work will support the growth of this new region.

YOUR COMPENSATION

The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. The expected salary ranges for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future

Tier A: $23.32 hourly
