About the Team:

Relativity Space’s Legal team is nimble, entrepreneurial, and deeply collaborative. Unique to Relativity’s fast-paced, high-growth environment, the team works across many departments to support Relativity's ambitious goals. The company is in a formative phase, with enough structure to build from and still plenty of room for you to define what’s next.

We are looking for an exceptional lawyer to own the development and implementation of legal, regulatory, and transactional strategy for large-scale infrastructure and real estate projects. You will partner with Relativity’s Manufacturing, Real Estate, and Test & Launch teams on high-visibility, high-impact projects, including acquiring and leasing land, building and renovating factories, building launch and test sites, installing utilities, and developing and updating transportation infrastructure (e.g., water, roads). You will also support procurement of equipment, goods, and services related to enabling use of infrastructure at various sites, including construction materials, equipment, and commodities services.

About the Role:

  • Lead strategy and execution of legal elements of infrastructure and real estate projects, including acquiring and leasing land, building and renovating factories and commercial real estate, building launch and test sites, installing utilities, and developing and updating transportation infrastructure (e.g., water, roads).
  • Advise internal stakeholders on land use, title, entitlements, permitting, and zoning.
  • Develop and execute strategies to ensure proper approvals for development of land and construction of facilities and equipment, including partnering with local and officials and community organizations to achieve buy-in.
  • Negotiate large infrastructure and real estate transactions.
  • Implement scalable practices for managing project risks, contract compliance, and long-term infrastructure planning.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including purchase and sale agreements, leases, construction agreements (with architects, contractors, etc.), easements, maintenance agreements, and related instruments.

About You:

  • JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. state.
  • 5+ years of post-JD experience
  • 2+ years of relevant experience at a top law firm.
  • Excellent strategic planning, negotiation, drafting, and project management skills.
  • Systems thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
  • Motivated, self-starter with the ability to lead cross-functional projects.

Nice to haves but not required:

  • Experience with conventional or bond financing for large projects.
  • Proven experience driving large-scale real estate, infrastructure, or construction projects from start to finish.
  • Ability to translate legal complexity into practical guidance.
  • In-house experience partnering closely with business and ownership teams at a rapidly scaling, operationally complex company.
