Position Summary
The Director of Recruiting is an individual contributor within the People function, responsible for owning end-to-end recruiting, candidate experience, and early employee lifecycle for Serent Capital’s team.
This role partners closely with senior leadership and hiring managers, combining hands-on execution with strong judgment, process design, data-driven insights, and employer brand stewardship. The Director of Recruiting plays a critical role in shaping who joins Serent and how they experience the Firm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Full-Cycle Recruiting & Stakeholder Partnership
• Own full-cycle recruiting across functions and levels, including sourcing, screening, interview design, scheduling, evaluation, offers, and candidate communication
• Partner closely with hiring managers and senior leaders on role scoping, calibration, interview strategy, and hiring decisions
• Manage interview logistics, candidate materials, reference and backchannel checks, and late-stage candidate experience
• Act as a trusted recruiting advisor, proactively communicating pipeline health, risks, and recommendations
Recruiting Operations & Process Improvement
• Own and improve recruiting infrastructure, including ATS workflows, documentation, and reporting
• Track and analyze recruiting metrics such as time-to-hire, funnel conversion, and offer outcomes
• Develop and maintain recruiting SOPs, tools, and best practices to support consistency and scale
Employer Brand, MBA & Early Talent
• Lead MBA and early talent recruiting efforts across priority programs (e.g., HBS, GSB, Wharton)
• Develop recruiting events, outreach initiatives, and partnerships to strengthen pipeline and brand visibility
• Collaborate with Marketing on recruiting messaging, collateral, and content
Onboarding & Team Enablement
• Own onboarding kickoff and early employee experience for new hires
• Partner cross-functionally to ensure smooth onboarding, systems access, and early engagement
• Support recruiting team members through training, documentation, and scalable processes
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years of substantial experience in a recruiting, talent, or human capital role, ideally within professional services, finance, consulting, or private equity, with responsibility for owning full-cycle recruiting, including campus recruiting campaigns, and partnering closely with senior stakeholders.
The Director of Recruiting will have successfully recruited for multiple years and demonstrated strong judgment, discretion, and effectiveness in high-stakes hiring processes while supporting senior hiring managers and stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be extremely organized and process driven, intellectually curious, open-minded, proactively communicative and well-rounded, with exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong aptitude for building community, stewarding employer brand, and delivering a high-touch candidate experience. They will bring a demonstrated background in recruiting operations, process design, and data-informed decision making.
