The Retention Specialist will handle inbound sales inquiries, influence customer decisions, and build relationships while working in a competitive sales environment.

The Director, Sales Strategy & Growth Operations is responsible for defining and operationalizing NETGEAR’s global retail sales strategy. This leader drives the planning, performance, and go-to-market alignment needed to deliver the company’s 2026 growth agenda.

The Director will partner closely with Sales Operations, regional sales leaders, marketing, and operations to translate insights into commercial strategies and measurable outcomes. This role focuses on strategy, planning, performance governance, and cross-functional alignment.

This is a remote position based in the U.S. Candidates in PST or open to PST hours are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial Strategy & Growth Planning

  • Work with the VP of WW Sales to develop the Global Retail Sales Strategy aligned to corporate and regional priorities, and work with sales leaders to identify tactics to support the strategy.

  • Identify growth opportunities by analyzing category trends, channel performance, and competitive dynamics.

  • Build business cases and strategic recommendations for new channel initiatives, portfolio optimization, and commercial investments.

  • Lead the global RBU sales annual AOP planning and quarterly QBR process, coordinating inputs across Sales and Marketing.

  • Partner with the VP of Sales to set and track OKRs and success metrics for the global retail organization. Report out during weekly business review meetings.

Performance & Insights Governance

  • Partner with the Sales Operations team to leverage forecasting and performance data in shaping strategy and investment decisions.

  • Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and monthly business rhythm to assess performance and drive accountability.

  • Connect insights from Sales Ops, Marketing, and Finance to enable proactive course correction.

Go-to-Market & Cross-Functional Enablement

  • Program-manage cross-functional initiatives such as new product launches, channel marketing integration, and pricing strategy globally.

  • Collaborate with sales operations, sales and marketing on promotional planning, brand visibility, and retail content optimization.

  • Partner with Operations and Product teams to ensure channel feedback informs roadmap and S&OP planning.

  • Drive alignment between Sales, Marketing, and Product teams on key launches and campaigns.

Organizational Effectiveness & Change Leadership

  • Build a small, high-impact team to drive strategic projects and sales enablement (likely 2027).

  • Create frameworks and playbooks for repeatable, scalable go-to-market execution.

  • Champion a culture of data-driven decision-making, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Lead transformation initiatives that evolve how the global retail organization plans, measures, and executes.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Achievement of revenue and margin growth targets.

  • Execution of strategic initiatives (on time / ROI).

  • Improvement in forecast utilization and planning accuracy (via partnership with Sales Ops).

  • Adoption of global sales processes, scorecards, and business reviews.

  • Cross-functional alignment and satisfaction (qualitative feedback and project delivery).

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Sales Strategy, Sales Planning, or Business Operations, ideally in Consumer Electronics, CPG, or Omni-Channel Retail.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred.

  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate data into actionable growth strategies.

  • Proven experience leading cross-functional initiatives that improve forecasting, planning, and execution.

  • Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills; fluency with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent).

  • Executive-level communication and presentation skills.
