As our Director of Solution Engineering, you will lead a team of skilled sales engineers while actively engaging in client-facing activities as a player-coach. This role blends leadership with hands-on responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to guide your team and demonstrate the value of our solutions across complex, project-driven industries such as Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC).  You’ll collaborate closely with Sales, Product, and cross-functional teams to ensure technical alignment with client needs, driving impactful sales outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and participate in the solution engineering process, balancing team oversight with direct client engagement
  • Mentor and develop your team, fostering a collaborative culture focused on technical excellence and customer-centricity
  • Track and report on key performance indicators, such as demo effectiveness, follow-up requirements, and win/loss analysis
  • Design and execute client-specific demonstrations tailored to industry standards and business requirements
  • Develop and customize demo environments, including database setup and data scenarios, to showcase relevant product functionalities
  • Create and maintain a library of demonstration scripts, databases, tools, and technical collateral

Your First 90 Days
By Day 30

  • Complete onboarding and get fully set up on internal tools (e.g., Confluence, Slack, Salesforce, Salesloft, Zoom)
  • Meet cross-functional teams and begin building relationships
  • Review sales playbooks and product training materials
  • Familiarize yourself with sales resources and processes
  • Develop a strong understanding of the industries we serve
  • Learn how sales teams leverage sales and enablement platforms
  • Begin managing content development in our sales enablement tool

Days 31-60

  • Deepen your understanding of our product offerings and positioning
  • Continue supporting sales efforts through technical enablement
  • Partner with Sales Enablement, Product, Marketing, and Sales Ops to create and maintain enablement materials
  • Continue managing development and production of sales demonstration enablement content

By Day 90

  • Take ownership of documentation spaces and product-related content.
  • Drive onboarding and continuous learning programs for solution engineering and related teams.

Who You Are

  • 7+ years of experience in pre-sales engineering, software consulting, or software sales
  • Experience working with project-based organizations, compliance-driven environments, or financial/accounting systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate complex, variable scenarios
  • Proven track record of improving processes and promoting quality
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Comfortable with up to 10% travel

Differentiators

  • Experience as a user, implementer, or partner of ERP systems
  • Familiarity with competitive products (e.g., Deltek, Viewpoint, Sage, QuickBooks)
  • Prior experience managing a team of highly skilled solution engineers

The salary range for this opportunity is $180,000 - $200,000 per year. You will be eligible for employee equity and discretionary bonus compensation, subject to plans that may be in effect from time to time.
