Role

SmarterDx is seeking a driven and experienced leader to serve as our  Director of Operational Excellence, responsible for creating and implementing a decision-making framework and process for tracking cross-functional operational improvement initiatives, ensuring decisions can be made efficiently to maximize positive impact on our strategic goals.

The ideal candidate will be able to build trusting relationships with our executive leadership team and define a multi-year program strategy and roadmap, ensuring all initiatives are aligned with core business objectives, particularly in product development and delivery. You will be radically committed to enabling them to lean into their strengths and develop high trust and accountability in areas where others bring a high level of expertise. You will work closely with a Sr. Program Manager and Principal Reporting Analyst to ensure processes and metrics can effectively track the progress of strategic initiatives and report on operational risks that have a material impact on enterprise goals.

Most of our day-to-day customers are clinical documentation improvement specialists and coders at US health systems. Supporting their work is an essential component of what we do at SmarterDx, and in this role, you will translate executive-level strategy into tangible program roadmaps, driving cross-functional accountability, and ensuring alignment with the company’s goals as a top-tier health technology organization.

What You’ll Do
  • Serve as the central point of contact focused on strategic initiatives for senior leaders across multiple functions to synthesize outputs into decisions that result in actionable deliverables
  • Proactively identify, assess, and manage program risks, interdependencies, and critical path issues, partnering with executive stakeholders on implementing decisive outcomes based on recommended mitigation steps
  • Regularly deliver clear, concise, and compelling program updates, status reports, and recommendations to the leadership team, articulating progress, impact, and resource needs
  • Mentor and lead a small, but high performing team consisting of a Program Manager and Principal Reporting Analyst, fostering a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and high performance within the organization.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is required. A Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) is strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in program and/or engagement management, with at least 3 years operating at a leadership or Director level within a complex and fast-paced technology organization. Healthcare background strongly preferred
  • Exceptional executive-level communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex initiatives within a Fortune 100 or top-tier health technology company
