Spotlight on Hiring Teams:

Traffic Engineering

The Traffic Engineering team designs, builds, and operates the core infrastructure that manages how traffic flows across Netflix’s cloud and edge environments. Our systems ensure that every member receives a fast, reliable, and high-quality streaming experience, even during massive live events and unexpected spikes in demand. The TMF team is instrumental in driving Netflix’s cloud scalability and resiliency by building robust capabilities for end-to-end traffic management, including region failover, traffic shaping, and predictive scaling. We work closely with Data Science to develop and operationalize predictive models, translating them into actionable strategies for scaling our infrastructure in real time. By automating and optimizing traffic management, we enable Netflix to deliver uninterrupted entertainment to hundreds of millions of members worldwide—making our work critical to Netflix’s reputation, member satisfaction, and continued growth.

Data Developer Experience

The Data Developer Experience (DDX) team at Netflix is dedicated to enhancing the experience of data practitioners—including Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, ML Engineers, and Data Scientists. As we evolve toward the next generation of our data platform, the DDX team is focused on boosting productivity by developing cutting-edge data tools and infrastructure that eliminate the friction and toil of building, maintaining, and leveraging data products.   • Solving real business needs at large scale by applying your software engineering and analytical problem-solving skills.

About you:

  • You have 2+ years of experience in building large-scale distributed systems features or applications.

  • You are proficient in the design and development of RESTful web services.

  • Experienced in building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems

  • You are experienced in Java or other object-oriented programming languages.

  • Multi-threading is a challenge that you are comfortable tackling.

  • You have a BS in Computer Science or a related field.


Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $71,040.00 - $464,000.00. This compensation range will vary based on location.

Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
