The DSR Implementation Specialist (Contract) is responsible for the end-to-end technical deployment of DroneSense Remote (DSR) systems for public safety agencies launching or expanding Drone as First Responder (DFR) programs. This contractor role owns all technical readiness activities from contract kickoff through system validation and training handoff, ensuring agencies are operationally prepared for safe, reliable remote drone operations.

This role is highly hands-on and customer-facing, requiring strong expertise in network infrastructure, site selection, system integration, and cross-functional coordination. The DSR Implementation Specialist works closely with customer IT teams, public safety leadership, third-party hardware vendors, and DroneSense Professional Services.

What You Do

  • Conduct comprehensive network infrastructure assessments with customer IT teams to ensure systems meet operational requirements.
  • Coordinate with customer IT departments on network change requests, ensuring proper configuration of routers, firewalls, and security protocols.
  • Validate Remote Operations Center (ROC) setup including computer hardware, PS5 controllers, network connectivity, and environmental requirements.
  • Identify and evaluate potential launch sites based on connectivity, line-of-sight, operational proximity, and safety requirements.
  • Conduct comprehensive site surveys including RF interference analysis, power availability assessment, and FAA airspace evaluation.
  • Test network connectivity at launch sites using remote controllers and coordinate installation.

What You Bring

  • 3-5 years in network administration, IT infrastructure, or systems integration roles.
  • 2+ years of project management or technical coordination experience managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in firewall configuration, TCP/UDP protocols, IP whitelisting, and network troubleshooting.
  • Part 107 License
  • Experience with drone operations and understanding of FAA regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and systematic troubleshooting approach.
  • Strong communication skills: verbal, written, and presentation.
  • Ability to dive into technical details while maintaining strategic project oversight
  • A low-ego, team-first mentality. You know when to get your hands dirty and when to lead through influence.
  • Extensive experience managing various stakeholders and building cross-functional relationships with customer IT teams, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Proven track record in a fast-paced and high-growth environment managing 3-5 concurrent implementations.
  • Strong influencer skills with ability to coordinate complex technical projects across multiple organizations.
  • Comfortable working with varying levels of technical expertise from executive leadership to network administrators.

*DroneSense employs full time US citizens or naturalized citizens from a NATO country, who are current residents in one of the 50 contiguous United States. Though our positions are "remote" we do not work with offshore/near shore individuals or contractors to stay in compliance with our client's requirements.
