EA - Data Pipeline Developer

Data Pipeline Developers fill a critical role at NGP VAN, processing large datasets for our clients and vendors. Working with technical and client-facing teams, this role ensures our clients can operate at peak efficiency by delivering data quickly, accurately, and reliably. The ideal candidate is someone who has both the technical skills required for the job, but also possesses experience within the political tech ecosystem who understands the unique needs of our clients.

Responsibilities

• Process datasets from a variety of data vendors and clients, including voter files, client membership, and other requests.

• Collaborate with client support to quickly respond to incoming support requests.

• Provide and implement recommendations for automation to existing ETL processes

• Crucial Skills/Experience – A good candidate will have all of these:

• Experience writing SQL statements in a common RDBMS language(MSSQL)

• Prior experience working for a political campaign/organization, electoral-focused non-profit, or labor union.

• Experience using a scripting language for basic file manipulation tasks

• Knowledge of political districts, electoral calendars, voter files, and other core concepts of electioneering.

Additional Skills/Experience

A great candidate will have several of these

• Experience with Powershell.

• Excellent T-SQL skills, including experience with dynamic SQL

• Experience with the NGP VAN/EveryAction application

• Experience with automating systems

• Understanding of query optimization in a MSSQL environment

The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. 

Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and in addition to benefits this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses/incentives, and equity. 

This position is a part of a bargaining union represented by CWA Local 1400, 2336, or 13000.

US Base Salary Range: $85,800 - $110,000
