Key Responsibilities

Flex (10%)

  • Facilitate daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and sprint reviews
  • Maintain and optimize workflows in Jira, ensuring clean backlog management and accurate sprint tracking
  • Remove blockers and foster collaboration across product development teams
  • Coach team members on agile methodologies and continuous improvement practices
  • Track sprint velocity, burndown charts, and team metrics to drive performance
  • Coordinate with product owners to refine user stories and manage dependencies

Web Administration (30%)

  • Manage and maintain websites built on WordPress and Webflow platforms
  • Implement design updates, content changes, and functional enhancements
  • Monitor site performance, uptime, and security across all web properties
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with developers when needed
  • Manage DNS configurations, hosting environments, and third-party integrations
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness
  • Maintain documentation for web systems and processes

Data Operations & Systems Coordination (30%)

  • Serve as the data steward for our entire digital ecosystem (Dropbox, HubSpot, DocuSign, Jira, and all connected platforms)
  • Audit, organize, and maintain file structures, naming conventions, and data hygiene across all systems
  • Establish and enforce organizational standards for data management and documentation
  • Create and maintain data flow maps showing how information moves through our systems
  • Identify redundancies, orphaned data, and opportunities for consolidation
  • Implement and monitor data retention policies and archival processes
  • Build documentation and SOPs for how teams should use and maintain each platform
  • Conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance with organizational standards
  • Serve as the go-to person for "where is X stored?" and "how do we organize Y?"
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in operations, project management, or data governance roles
  • Demonstrated ability to bring order to chaotic systems and maintain organizational standards
  • Proven experience with Jira for project tracking and workflow management
  • Strong hands-on experience with WordPress (theme customization, plugins, site maintenance)
  • Working knowledge of Webflow (design implementation, CMS management, interactions)
  • Experience working with product development teams through full sprint cycles
  • Comfort navigating multiple enterprise platforms (file storage, CRM, document management systems)
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to enforce standards diplomatically
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with HubSpot CRM organization, custom properties, and workflow management
  • Familiarity with Dropbox Business, Google Drive, or similar file management at scale
  • Background in data governance, information architecture, or knowledge management
  • Active interest in and experience with AI tools for productivity, automation, and data organization
  • Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent)
  • Experience with process documentation and creating SOPs
  • Understanding of data privacy and compliance considerations
What Makes You Stand Out
  • You're energized by bringing order to chaos and creating sustainable systems
  • You can see the big picture of how data flows through an organization while also caring about folder naming conventions
  • You're equally comfortable diving into WordPress code, facilitating a sprint retrospective, and reorganizing a messy Dropbox structure
  • You're curious about AI tools and how they can improve team workflows, web operations, and data management
  • You take ownership of both strategic planning and tactical execution
  • You can enforce standards without being rigid—balancing structure with team needs
  • You genuinely enjoy being the person who knows where everything is and how everything connects
Tools You'll Use Daily
  • Jira for sprint and project management
  • WordPress and Webflow for website administration
  • Dropbox for file organization and management
  • HubSpot for CRM data hygiene and organization
  • DocuSign and document management workflows
  • Slack for team communication
  • AI tools for enhanced productivity and data organization (we encourage experimentation)
  • Google Workspace for documentation and collaboration
Your Impact

In this role, you'll be the operational glue that holds our digital infrastructure together. When someone can't find a file, you'll know where it is. When data is scattered, you'll consolidate it. When processes are unclear, you'll document them. You'll make it easier for everyone else to do their jobs by ensuring our systems are organized, accessible, and well-maintained.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on variety, loves creating order from chaos, and wants to be the central nervous system of our operational ecosystem.

What is Contrarian Thinking and what do we do?

We aim to make Main Street > Wall Street.

Who are we: We are an investment firm and media company led by veterans of Wall Street, Private Equity, and operators of Main Street businesses. We help owners BUY, SCALE, and SELL businesses.

Our Ecosystem:

  • Capital & Investment Company - We invest millions annually in businesses, and support our portfolio businesses in scaling to create enduring, profitable businesses they love to run, but also change the world.
  • Events & Community - We help business buyers and builders with live workshops, weekly calls, and annual events around the country. We have two types of communities:
    1. For Buyers - a vetted community of buyers who utilize our campus, curriculum, and advisors to buy or invest in businesses, and

  • Media & Content - We aim to be the biggest and most trusted business media company in the world - through podcasts, YouTube, books, and online education. We aim to make business and finance content better than any University degree.

Come build with us.

The Contrarian Creed

These are the words we stand by, live by and define what it means to be a Contrarian.

  1. People who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it.

  2. Be a great f*cking human. Do what’s right even when it hurts.

  3. How you do anything, is how you do everything.

  4. We do the dirty work.

  5. Your word is your contract.

  6. We are Archimedes, find your lever.

  7. Winners want pressure.

  8. We want your weird. Better weird than boring.

  9. Your job isn’t done until THE job is done. We work the problem.

  10. Assumptions are for assholes. Find the truth.

  11. Less words, more meaning.

  12. Even our notes are worth stealing. Make every creation a mini-masterpiece.

  13. Show me your results, not your intentions.

You ready to become an official Contrarian? Awesome, here are the details:
