WHO YOU ARE:

The Editorial Assistant, AI Content will work closely with the Senior Managing Editor to produce high-quality life insurance content that helps consumers make smarter financial decisions — and drives leads to our partners’ life insurance products.

You’ll help us scale our content program using AI and SEO tools, creating briefs and editing AI-generated drafts, refreshing existing articles, updating rate tables, and supporting experiments designed to help our content rank in traditional search and emerging AI search platforms including ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google’s SGE.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career editor or SEO content creator who is excited by the future of AI-assisted publishing and wants to learn how a best-in-class content program operates at scale.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Brief in, edit, and publish AI-generated life insurance content on Policygenius.com, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with our editorial and brand guidelines.
  • Support our SEO content strategy by helping brainstorm new article ideas, identifying content gaps, and contributing to AI/SEO-driven projects that boost rankings and lead generation.
  • Maintain consistency of voice, tone, and quality across all life insurance content on the site.
  • Update life insurance articles and rate tables as product information, pricing, and regulations evolve.
  • Monitor content performance using analytics tools and share insights that inform content improvements and strategy.
  • Work cross-functionally with editors, marketing specialists, and other teams to ensure content aligns with audience needs and business goals.
  • Stay informed about emerging AI and SEO trends and contribute ideas for growing visibility across AI-powered discovery channels.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

Because this is an entry-level role, we don’t expect you to have everything — but you should bring:

  • 1–3 years of experience in AI or SEO content, digital media, or a related role (internships, freelance writing, or part-time roles count!).
  • Strong editorial judgment and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for AI-assisted content creation and SEO.
  • Ability to analyze content performance using data and communicate insights clearly.
  • Interest in personal finance or a willingness to learn the life insurance category.
  • Familiarity with (or willingness to learn) tools such as: Slack, Airtable, Google Analytics, Contentful, Get Stat, Google Search Console, Tableau, AI content platforms, and other SEO tools.

BONUS POINTS:

  • Experience editing or writing for a B2C audience.
  • Comfort working with structured content (rate tables, data-driven updates, etc.).
  • Prior exposure to AI search engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, etc.) or SGE-style result formats
  • Basic understanding of SEO best practices or eagerness to develop this expertise.
