Profile OverviewClient seeks a long-term content writer with a journalistic writing background, ideally with experience in education or nonprofit storytelling. The writer will help develop and maintain a dynamic alumni platform by producing spotlight stories, updating website content, and assisting with newsletter-style features. Strong editorial judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to write for digital formats are essential.
Scope- Commitment: Approx. 22.5 hours per month (5 hrs/week minimum)
- Start Date: Targeting the week of January 12
- Duration: Long-term (at least 12 months)
- Time Zone Preference: U.S. Eastern or Central Time Preferred
- Collaboration: Direct communication with the client and ability to join meetings/interviews as needed
- Write and update monthly alumni spotlights
- Produce web content for the alumni microsite (resources, applications, events)
- Assist with newsletter-style updates and content
- Participate in calls/interviews with alumni or team members
- Research and implement strategies to boost engagement and site traffic
- Upload/publish content when provided access and instruction
- Strong journalistic or editorial writing background
- Experience writing for nonprofit, education, or alumni/community engagement platforms
- Understanding of web publishing and basic CMS usage (training can be provided)
- Self-starter who can manage tasks with minimal oversight
- Comfortable conducting interviews and turning them into compelling stories
- Familiarity with storytelling strategies that boost visibility and engagement
