About the Role

BSI is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Consulting Specialist to support a variety of environmental, health, and safety client engagements. This is an EHS Generalist, early-career consulting role designed for professionals who are eager to apply technical knowledge, develop hands-on field experience, and grow within a collaborative consulting environment.

The Consulting Specialist will support projects across multiple industries and client sites. Assignments may vary based on business needs and project demand, but the core responsibilities and expectations of the role remain consistent. This position offers exposure to field work, data collection, client interaction, and foundational EHS program support, with structured onboarding and team-based guidance.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct industrial hygiene assessments, including indoor air quality (IAQ) evaluations, exposure assessments, workplace investigations, and air, noise, and other occupational sampling and monitoring activities.
  • Support clients in achieving and maintaining compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations and applicable industry standards.
  • Perform workplace health and safety inspections, hazard assessments, risk evaluations, and compliance audits, and assist in developing corrective action plans.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS management systems, including those based on ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Develop and deliver occupational health, safety, and environmental training programs for employees, supervisors, and management teams.
  • Contribute to sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, including projects focused on energy reduction, waste minimization, environmental footprint management, and resource conservation.
  • Support environmental compliance and assessment activities related to air emissions, wastewater management, hazardous waste, and other environmental programs.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments and workstation evaluations in collaboration with senior consultants and ergonomic specialists.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret technical data to identify risks, evaluate controls, and develop practical recommendations for clients.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and technically sound reports, presentations, and other project deliverables, and communicate findings and recommendations to clients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on occupational hygiene, safety, environmental, and sustainability projects across a variety of industries.
  • Stay current on emerging regulations, industry best practices, and EHS trends to support high-quality consulting services and client solutions.

Education/Qualifications

  • You must have a bachelor’s degree or higher in an EHS or related field of study
  • 2–3 years of experience in EHS or IH-related work (internships and co-ops count)
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with clients and team members
  • Willingness to travel for client-related projects
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and car and be able to drive for client-related projects
  • Must be able to travel by plane outside the region to support client work in other locations

The salary for this position can range from $75,000 - $80,000 annually; the advertised salary range reflects the level, scope and responsibilities of the role. Starting salary within that range will be determined based on experience, skills, market considerations and alignment with internal equity principles.
