Your Opportunity

As an Electrical Designer/Engineer, you will lead and support the delivery of electrical systems across a diverse portfolio of building projects, ranging in size and complexity. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative, code-compliant solutions from concept through construction.

This role provides the opportunity to take ownership of design elements, contribute to project planning and execution, and grow into increased leadership responsibilities. You will play a key role in ensuring technical excellence, coordination, and successful project delivery in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical engineering design efforts on multiple projects of varying complexity, including data collection and analysis to support design decisions
  • Interpret drawings, codes, and applicable standards to inform design solutions
  • Perform calculations and design building electrical systems, including lighting, photometrics, and power distribution studies using company standards and industry software
  • Lead preparation and coordination of project specifications with construction documents
  • Coordinate with architectural, interior, and other engineering disciplines throughout project execution
  • Support project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule management
  • Perform field investigations, site visits, and construction observations
  • Lead project coordination meetings with internal teams, clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors
  • Support development of electrical standards and specifications
  • Mentor junior staff and serve as a technical resource to the team
  • Perform other duties as assigned by project leadership
Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required, or ability to obtain licensure; Texas licensure is a plus
  • Strong ability to integrate electrical design elements with other disciplines
  • Solid knowledge of applicable building codes and industry standards
  • Deep understanding of power distribution and lighting systems for building design
  • Experience across sectors such as commercial, higher education, K-12, mission critical, and/or industrial projects is a plus
  • Ability to apply sustainable design principles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Revit and familiarity with multidisciplinary coordination workflows
  • Working knowledge of industry tools such as AGi32 (or equivalent), SKM (or equivalent), Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and Newforma Project Center
  • Willingness to travel periodically based on project and client needs

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering required
  • Minimum of 5 years of electrical design experience in building systems
  • Experience in sectors such as Commercial, Workplace, Mission Critical, or Science & Technology preferred

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

About the Team
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
