Harbor Health

EMR Analyst (Athena)

Hybrid - Austin, TX  |  Clinical Informatics  |  Full-Time

POSITION OVERVIEW

Harbor Health is seeking a collaborative EMR Analyst to join our team. Harbor Health is an entirely new multi-specialty clinic group in Texas utilizing a modern approach to co-create health with those who get, give, and pay for it — allowing everyone to fully flourish. In this role, you will manage the day-to-day administration, optimization, and continuous improvement of our Athena EMR — the backbone of how we deliver care. You will configure, maintain, and enhance the platform to drive efficient healthcare delivery and operational improvement across the organization, while also providing lighter-touch support for adjacent clinical applications as we grow.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment, moves with a strong sense of urgency, and brings the organization, reliable follow-through, and collaborative instincts to execute effectively against leadership priorities — in alignment with our mission of transforming healthcare through our payvider model.

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Configure, implement, maintain, and continuously optimize the Athena EMR platform, providing hands-on day-to-day administration and support
  • Conduct workflow assessments, capture business needs, and analyze internal systems to identify functional requirements that maximize utilization of Athena
  • Develop and configure moderate-to-high-complexity break-fix and configuration solutions in Athena through due diligence and research
  • Collaborate with technical resources to review, build, test, and debug Athena, including active participation during testing for implementations and upgrades
  • Use project management platforms (monday.com and Jira) to keep work organized, on schedule, and clearly tracked — ensuring assigned action items are followed through to completion
  • Partner with the training team by providing EMR and system expertise, and supporting virtual training sessions and tip sheets as needed
  • Provide support for Athena-integrated and other clinical applications such as Phreesia, and help onboard new applications as Harbor Health grows
  • Identify and recommend process and system improvements that leverage new Athena functionality for leadership review
  • Cultivate strong relationships with end-user communities, clinical and operational teams, revenue cycle management (RCM), and other business partners

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Hands-on Athena EMR experience in a healthcare setting, weighted toward technical/system configuration — back-end tables, behind-the-scenes build, and system setup — rather than end-user support
  • Strong sense of urgency with the ability to prioritize and execute in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Highly organized self-starter who manages multiple concurrent initiatives and reliably follows through on commitments
  • Experience using project management platforms (monday.com and Jira) and familiarity with project management methodology
  • Dependable meeting attendance and preparedness — shows up on time, ready, and accountable for next steps
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to bring teams together and foster effective cooperation across functions
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking, critical problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Effective communication skills to translate technical and system concepts clearly for clinical, operational, and business partners
  • Experience developing technical/system design specifications and carrying out system builds
  • Strategic thinker who adapts and responds effectively to changes in organizational or EHR priorities

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a startup or early-stage organization
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Experience supporting additional clinical applications such as Phreesia

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to travel to clinic sites across Texas as needed

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive salary and incentives
  • Generous PTO
  • 10 paid holidays
  • CME Allowance and time off
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Occurrence-based malpractice
  • 401(k) Investment Plan
  • Company Equity

At Harbor Health, we're transforming healthcare in Texas through collaboration and innovation. We're seeking passionate individuals to help us create a member-centered experience that connects comprehensive care with a modern payment model. If you're ready to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic environment where your contributions are valued, please bring your talents to our team!
