Resource Innovations is seeking an Energy Modeling Consultant to support our Inflation Reduction Act Program field delivery in Arizona. As an early key hire in this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality energy assessments and ensuring quality energy modeling for our HOMES and HEEHR programs. These programs will provide comprehensive in-home energy audits with a focus on income-based program participants and collaboration with contractor networks. Your oversight will extend to residential weatherization, HVAC, and water heating installation inspections, as you review QA/QC findings to ensure program integrity. This role will be a hybrid of a field and remote office position. 

You are a key role in serving as the liaison between the Energy Auditor field team and the software platform used for energy modeling. Following the comprehensive in-home energy assessment, you will take on responsibility for reviewing project inputs, calibrating the modeling software and finalizing the selected equipment with the customer.  

The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in energy auditing, energy modeling/data analysis and project management. Strong leadership skills, a focus on team building and customer service, and knowledge of relevant standards and practices, particularly BPI certifications, are essential. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities will set you apart.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Energy Modeling: Reviews the data collected by the in-home energy audits for quality assurance and reviews all project inputs and recommendations. Refine and calibrate projects using the energy modeling software to ensure BPI requirements are met. 
  • Customer Interaction: Finalizes the selected equipment with the customer, generates work order and collects customer signature. Ensures all necessary forms and materials are completed    
  • On-Site: May also conduct onsite assessments or field inspections; reviews/writes inspection reports, and provides solutions to remedy failed inspections. 
  • Develops and implements Energy audit protocols, QA/QC requirements and implementation plans    
  • Reviews program QC findings, reports and remedies inaccuracies    
  • Leverages best practices and continuous improvement plans to implement long term solutions in partnership with the client and Resource Innovations’ Program Managers    
  • Generates weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports to audit, monitor and measure performance and relevant metrics    
  • Works as part of a cross functional team that includes program operations, IT, Marketing, and Customer Service/Processing    
  • Other business operations-related tasks as assigned


Requirements

Requirements 

  • Must be a US Citizen 
  • Must be located in or willing to relocate to South, Central or North Arizona within 30 days of acceptance
  • Must obtain a valid driver's license and personal vehicle for local travel up to 25-75% of the time
  • 2+ years’ experience in a quality control and quality assurance role, or consulting, energy efficiency or utility experience highly desired    
  • Knowledge of building science, construction and technical expertise is required 
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time (limited overnight travel) 
  • Experience with SnuggPro a plus 
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills    

Preferred skills, education and experience 

  • BPI Building Analyst and Envelope certifications preferred, but candidates must be willing to obtain these certifications within a specified timeframe after joining Resource Innovations
  • Home Energy Score certification 
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities    
  • Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple priorities    
  • Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information    
  • Proficient skills with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM tools   
  • Customer service focus    
  • Ability to apply detailed knowledge of organizational procedures to make independent decisions and serve as a credible resource for senior management team  
  • HERS and RESNET Rater certification preferred

Compensation & Benefits

Resource Innovations offers competitive salaries based on a candidate's skills, experience and qualifications for the position.  The compensation range for the base salary for this position is $70,000-$80,000. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.  The stated salary represents the expected compensation for this position. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as the candidate's experience, education and location.
