In the role of SIG Field Service Representative Engineer, you will provide visible customer support through on-site installations. You will lead all aspects of diagnostics, solving, servicing, and repairing complex equipment and systems. You will engage in quality control inspections before shipment and confirm the operational quality of system equipment. You will give initial training to partners on installation, operation, and upkeep, and represent the company in administrative and technical communications for assigned projects.
A SIG Field Service Representative will interpret partners' needs and clarify if the responsibility for problem resolution falls to sales personnel, BOA (Business Operations Analysts), or development engineering. You will serve as a SIG partner contact on technical and service-related problems. You will prepare reports for analysis of product failure trends and serviceability issues. This job may include any aspect of field support and is not limited to system hardware and software. You will work directly and indirectly with diverse cultures and nationalities, performing all aspects of the Field Service listed below.
Job Responsibilities
  • On-Site Installations: Lead the setup, commissioning, and validation of equipment at remote partner locations.
  • Partner Training: Develop and deliver training plans and technical documentation to ensure partner self-sufficiency and regional team proficiency.
  • Strategic Liaison: Act as the primary technical link between partners, SIG Engineering, and BOA teams for quotes, RMAs, and upgrades.
  • Technical Support: Provide expert troubleshooting for complex system failures and manage spare parts inventory.
  • Responsiveness: Maintain a strict 24-hour response time and conduct proactive weekly check-ins with remote sites.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyze operational and RMA data to perform failure analysis and recommend reliability improvements.
  • Engineering Support: Assist with prototype assembly, qualification, and field-testing to support R&D and improve manufacturing.
  • Quality & Safety: Author technical manuals and ensure strict adherence to site safety protocols, including JHA, 6S, and ESD standards.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: AAS or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering.
  • Technical Expertise: 3+ years in field service or systems integration, specifically troubleshooting complex hardware/software and using DOE processes.
  • Client Management: 3+ years in customer-facing roles managing on-site installations and delivering technical training.
  • Safety & Quality: Proven experience applying 6S/ESD protocols and JHA within a manufacturing or lab environment.
  • Availability: Ability to travel extensively to remote locations and contribute to a 24-

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Semiconductor Expertise: 3+ years of experience specifically within the semiconductor manufacturing or memory/storage solutions industry.
  • Advanced Root-Cause Analysis: Proven success in performing in-depth failure analysis on complex PCB assemblies and integrated system software.
  • Global Project Leadership: Experience managing international installations and coordinating technical projects across diverse cultures and nationalities.
