The BAE Systems Dallas Engineering organization is looking for an Engineering Assistant III to join their fast-paced engineering team. You will be supporting a wide variety of non-routine complex assignments including test and troubleshooting of complex precision electronic circuit cards, subsystems, and systems in the Digital and RF Domain. The candidate will acquire product knowledge, use, and advance their technical skills while performing their assigned responsibilities in the product development on advanced projects. You be providing oversight of compliance and safety tasks in the day-to-day operation of engineering labs.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- As an Engineering Assistant III you will be responsible for performing routine and varied tasks to ensure that Engineering standards for proper lab operation are met. Responsibilities can vary from setting up, calibrating, testing and troubleshooting assemblies. The opportunities to engage with Programs on technical areas may range from simple to complex Providing support to engineers on a variety of tasks and will support engineers on a variety of quality and technical tasks.
- Performs operational tests on a wide variety of moderately complex production components, subassemblies and systems using data sheets, schematics, wiring diagrams, established test specifications and standard test procedures, which clearly outline procedures to be followed.
- Engaging and demonstrating an extensive understanding of test equipment, subassemblies, and components related to electronics and fundamental electrical principles.
- Setting up and operating in accordance with prescribed engineering procedures a variety of test stands consisting of multiples of standard test equipment such as pulse generators, amplifiers, oscilloscopes, voltmeters, counters, spectrum analyzers and network analyzers.
- Working with engineering instructions and standard test procedures to operationally test developmental products as required.
- Interpreting test data and validating results against specifications, test procedures and data sheets to determine proper functioning and test quality of product.
- Supervising the engineering lab(s), program(s) and lab Users(s) under their responsibility. Working directly with the program personnel and lab users to ensure maintaining of schedules, workloads and milestones.
- Maintaining the labs assuring consistent cleanliness, safety and compliance.
- Multitasking to assure assessments such as personnel and product safety chemicals(s), test equipment, external and internal quality, security and ISO ensuring labs audit ready.
- Understanding the Engineering Lab Manual (ELM) and all associated policies and procedures to include outside stakeholders. Be aware of current version and actively participate in revisions.
- Proficiency in numerous databases; Metrology, chemical, procurement, Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), Plant Engineering, shipping as examples.
- Procuring, delivering, stocking, inventory and dispositioning of materials/equipment following company policies.
- Instructing and assisting in training junior technicians as necessary.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- High School and/or Trade School graduate, with technical skills or a technical military background.
- 3+ years as an engineering technician.
- IPC-J-STD-001 Solder Qualified.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point and access databases.
- Experience with various test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies and automated test equipment (ATE).
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents like schematics, blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Skilled in installing and hand-soldering electronic components to printed circuit boards, as well as assembling and connecting wiring and using tools and soldering techniques
- Experience with diagnosing and resolving technical issues
- Clearly and concisely convey complex technical information to diverse audiences, including non-technical team members.
- Work effectively singularly or within a team to achieve goals
- Adaptability for performing various tasks, technical and non-technical to meet schedules and deadlines.
- Secret DOD Clearance level - eligible.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
