The Role

We're seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the team building our core platform. You'll own the technical foundation that powers all of our enterprise deployments, building scalable, reusable infrastructure.

This role is product and platform-focused. You'll drive engineering excellence, establish standards and practices, and build the systems that make our delivery teams successful. You'll work closely with Product, Architecture, and client-facing engineering teams to ensure the platform evolves to meet enterprise needs.

About A.Team

A.Team is an AI Systems Integrator serving Fortune 500 CPG and Retail brands. We're building Assemble, an agentic AI platform that transforms how enterprise teams work.

We're at an inflection point, transitioning from custom client solutions to a scalable platform model. This role is critical to that evolution, building the technical foundation for our next phase of growth.

What You'll Do
Lead Platform Engineering
  • Own the roadmap and delivery for Assemble's core platform capabilities

  • Build scalable infrastructure including data pipelines, knowledge management, agent orchestration, and enterprise integrations

  • Drive architecture decisions that balance immediate delivery needs with long-term platform scalability

  • Ensure platform reliability, security, and performance at enterprise scale

Drive Engineering Excellence
  • Establish and enforce engineering standards, development practices, and code quality across the organization

  • Lead technical design reviews and architecture discussions

  • Build an AI-native team—incorporate AI into engineering workflows and practices

  • Reduce technical debt while maintaining delivery velocity

  • Create documentation and knowledge sharing practices

  • Build CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and developer tooling

Manage & Develop the Team
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of platform engineers

  • Conduct 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations

  • Make hiring decisions and participate in technical interviews

  • Build a high-trust, high-performance engineering culture

About You
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years in engineering management

  • Strong technical background in Python, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and distributed systems

  • Experience building platforms, developer tools, or internal infrastructure

  • Deep understanding of modern software architecture, CI/CD, and engineering best practices

  • Experience establishing and implementing AI best practices

  • Experience working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments

  • Track record of shipping high-quality software and improving engineering velocity

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across teams

Success in This Role Looks Like
  • Platform capabilities accelerate delivery team velocity measurably

  • Engineering and AI standards and practices improve across the organization

  • Engineering team is productive, engaged, and growing

  • You're the technical leader others look to for guidance on "how we build"

At A.Team, we believe diverse teams create better products and experiences. We are committed to equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender, gender identity or expression, or veteran status. We are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
