As an Engineering Manager, you’ll join our engineering leadership team and manage // coordinate the entire software development process for your teams. You will be empowered to oversee projects to ensure its success by coordinating the teams, resources, and activities while collaborating with our incredible Product Owners and other key stakeholders.

Are you wondering what teams you might be managing? Here’s the tease: You’ll be leading our Data & Reporting, Data Sources, and Infrastructure teams! Check out what you’ll be doing below:

  • Lead, support and empower a team of brilliant engineers by fostering collaboration, innovation and ownership.

  • Lead technical architecture decisions for scalable data processing systems handling on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

  • Drive technical strategy for data ingestion, processing, and storage solutions.

  • Collaborate with our Product Owners and other Engineering Managers to define clear functional requirements, timelines, roadmaps, and designs for your team.

  • Oversee production monitoring, incident response, and blameless post-mortem processes to continuously improve system reliability.

  • Own the full SDLC execution aligned with Rebuy’s product roadmap.

  • Manage team resources by clarifying requirements, removing blockers, and overseeing tasks prioritizations.

  • Oversee release management, ensuring smooth QA and production rollouts.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, logging and alerting systems for proactive issue resolution.

  • Improve operational efficiency by reviewing development processes, testing strategies, code reviews and release management.

  • Communicate and present to stakeholders and internal teams regarding roadmaps, updates, release schedules, etc.

Who You Are

The Hard Skills

  • Educational background in CS // Engineering.

  • Experience with various operating systems, development tools, and development methodologies including (Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes Engine, BigQuery, Git Workflows, CI/CD).

  • 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with progression into technical leadership, especially in a remote work environment.

  • 3-5+ years of engineering management experience leading data/infrastructure teams.

  • Experience with Golang (Go), Relational Databases, Google Cloud Bigtable or similar NoSQL/column-family stores (e.g., Apache HBase, Cassandra).

  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, consistency models, and microservices architecture.

  • Proficient in RESTful API design, GRPC, and message queue technologies (e.g., Pub/Sub, Kafka).

  • Experience with GCP services (Bigtable, GKE, Cloud Functions, IAM, etc.).

  • Idea generation and creativity along with the ability to work with deadlines, manage and complete projects on time and within budget.

  • Proven delivery experience working under an Agile // Scrum methodology.

  • A collaborative mindset and work approach with the ability to lead projects and mentor others.

  • The ability to thrive in a fast paced environment with a high level of autonomy and responsibilities.

  • Passion for solving complex problems with quality software at scale.

  • Excellent communication skills especially being able to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Keen on tracking and presenting work against milestones.

  • Next up will be a technical screening with our Staff and Principal Engineers to chat through all the technical details you’re wanting to know.

  • Finally, short final interview with our CEO and COO where you’ll get to learn more about Rebuy.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $150,000 - $195,000 USD annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter and hiring manager can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
