Job Description

AECOM Water is seeking an Environmental Engineer for our Austin, TX office. The qualified applicant will have experience in water/wastewater engineering and construction management principles, will be familiar with the design, construction, and operation of municipal water and/or wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs portions of assigned water and wastewater biologic treatment infrastructure related projects
  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures
  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving design calculations, preparation of technical memorandum, preparation of contract documents such as specifications and drawings
  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments
  • Provides guidance to graduate level engineers
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision
  • Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works
  • Co-ordinates with other disciplines, sub-consultants, contractors and regulatory reviews

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering
  • Texas PE License
  • 4+ years of Treatment design experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well in teams
  • Flexible – can adapt to shifting priorities / work schedules
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Participate as member of professional and technical societies
