Responsible for starting up, developing, and optimizing Assembly Stacking and Wafer level packaging equipment to develop next generation products, product quality, driving yield improvements, cost reduction, productivity improvement and risk management as well as resolving manufacturing line problems. Identify, diagnose and resolve equipment related problems by applying failure analysis, FMEA, 8D or SPC/FDC methodology. Coordinate and carry out equipment and material evaluation/optimization to implement changes at process step, leading and participating in yield improvement and cost optimization activities, handle new equipment qualifications and manage, audit and collaborate with equipment suppliers to achieve quality, cost, and risk mitigation objectives. Supervise the health of their assigned equipment, ensuring high-quality output, and development in collaboration with the original equipment manufacturers to meet Micron’s technology roadmap. Position requires up to 25% domestic and international travel. May telecommute.

Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field.
Position also requires:
1. Understanding design of experiment techniques (DOE), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Defect analysis and data analysis.
2. Working with wafer, assembly semiconductor equipment and overlay, and alignment systems.
3. Designing and drafting new equipment components and systems within relevant software, including SOLIDWORKS or Autocad.
4. Coding and automation, including Python, pandas data analysis, SQL database querying, and JMP JSL coding.
5. Semiconductor equipment knowledge, including dry etch, thin films deposition, wet etch, die stacking, dicing, grinding, underfill/molding and photolithography.
6. Analytical techniques used in the development of Semiconductor equipment to enable high accuracy, repeatable, and stable hardware.
