The Role:

You will help our clients navigate near-term IT spend reduction and sustainable cost optimization challenges. We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic IT Cost Optimization Expert to lead efforts in evaluating, reducing, and optimizing IT spend across the organization. This role involves deep collaboration with IT, finance, procurement, and business units to drive cost efficiency, maximize ROI on IT investments, and ensure financial alignment with organizational goals.

What you’ll need:

  • Proven experience analyzing IT spend across Vendors & Contracts, Staffing & Processes, Applications, Infrastructure and Projects to identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Demonstrated ability to design and execute IT cost optimization initiatives, with hands-on experience in driving benefits realization.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement tailored IT cost optimization strategies (e.g., vendor negotiations, licensing rationalization, resource utilization improvements, productivity improvements, eliminating redundancies)

  • Strong interpersonal and project management skills, with a track record of working effectively with IT, finance, procurement, and business stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to develop compelling business cases and facilitate client decision-making.

  • Deep practitioner knowledge of IT financial management experience for large complex IT organizations

  • Detailed understanding of cost accounting standards, cost structures and chargeback/pricing methodologies

  • Experience within a well-regarded management consultancy in a project delivery and sales capacity.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 184,000 USD - 248,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates. We also offer market leading benefit programs including generous PTO, a 401k match up to $7,200 per year, the opportunity to purchase company stock at a discount, and more.
