Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking an Experienced Field Service Representative to support for F/A-18 E/F Aircraft at Naval Air Station (NAS) North Island, California.
You are applying for a Field Operations position where our employees must be willing and able (potentially short notice) to travel to a variety of locations (domestic and/or international) to meet the needs of our customers.
Field Operations employees may be required to relocate to another Field Operations location based on customer needs and/or management requirements.
Specific contracts supported by Field Operations could require employees to perform a deployment to a US DOD contingency operation. Employees associated with these specific contracts must be able to pass military contractor health standards for deployment.
Position Responsibilities:
  • With agreement of leadership for Boeing-North Island (B-NI)- F/A-18 SLM Management and BGS Field Operations, the FSR's primary mission will be to provide direct support to B-NI F/A-18 SLM
  • Provide on-site assistance to B-NI F/A-18 SLM Flight Operations Mechanics (FOM) and management to solve difficult system maintenance problems & troubleshooting
  • Primary POC daily for taskings will be the B-NI F/A-18 SLM Technical Integrator. BGS Field Service Representative manager will remain the FSRs direct manager
  • Investigate system failures, document technical deficiencies for additional engineering analysis, and use established conventions to communicate technical information
  • Support both SLM Production and Flight Ramp operations
  • Provide advice and guidance to customers on operational and troubleshooting issues for F/A-18 Avionics systems, its wiring, and specialty coverage
  • Monitors product performance and makes recommendations for resolution of potential issues
  • Analyzes technical data and evaluates maintenance procedures
  • Develops and conducts ad-hoc training
  • Interpret technical documents and monitor Avionics/Wiring product performance
  • Uses multi-disciplined technical expertise and company product support resources to assist the customer to achieve and sustain a high level of proficiency in the operation and maintenance of the F/A-18 Hornet aircraft
  • Utilizes the Boeing Field Operations VECTOR system to record issues and get reach-back support

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Minimum 10 years interpreting electrical engineering drawings, schematics, and definition.
  • Experience in military flight operations or military avionics technician experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience fabricating, installing, routing, terminating, soldering, and repairing electrical wiring harnesses; or any variety of electrical components, and associated equipment
  • At the sole discretion of leadership, employees must be willing and able (on potentially short notice) to deploy/travel to a variety of locations (domestic and international) and for a variety of deployment durations to meet customer needs. Failure to deploy/travel will be considered as a resignation.
  • At the sole discretion of leadership, must be willing and able to relocate to a variety of locations (domestic and international) to meet customer needs and the statement of work. Failure to relocate will be considered as a resignation.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Minimum 7 years of experience on F/A-18 E/F, is desired.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $112,200 - $151,800.
