About the role

The Information Technology Intern – Level 1 Help Desk provides entry-level technical support to end users by assisting with basic hardware, software, and account-related issues. This position supports daily help desk operations while providing hands-on experience in troubleshooting, customer service, and IT support processes.

What you'll do

· Respond to and document help desk tickets and service requests.

· Provide basic troubleshooting for hardware, software, printer, and connectivity issues.

· Assist with password resets, account access, and user support.

· Set up and deploy workstations, laptops, and peripheral devices.

· Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate IT staff.

· Maintain accurate inventory and support documentation.

· Follow established IT policies, procedures, and security practices.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

· Currently pursuing or recently completed coursework in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

· Basic knowledge of computer hardware, Windows and Linux operating systems, and Microsoft 365 applications.

· Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.

· Ability to learn technical processes quickly and work under supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

· Familiarity with help desk ticketing systems, Active Directory, and remote support tools.

· Basic understanding of networking, device setup, and troubleshooting.

· Prior coursework, lab work, or internship experience in IT support.
