The Business Analyst will support Salesforce solutions delivery in Federal environments, facilitating requirements gathering, documentation, and compliance with Federal standards. They will collaborate with stakeholders and teams to ensure successful project implementation.
Business Analyst – (Salesforce Federal Delivery)
Location: Remote (US-based, preference for DC Metro Area). Possible In-person expectations include visits with customers, Salesforce offices, and to Thunder offices in Tysons Corner, VA.
Job Summary:
The Business Analyst (BA) plays a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of Salesforce solutions within Federal environments. This role works closely with Federal stakeholders to capture requirements, translate business needs into Salesforce functionality, and ensure solutions align with both mission objectives and security/compliance standards.
As part of Thunder’s Federal Delivery practice, the BA serves as a bridge between technical teams and Federal clients—facilitating workshops, documenting processes, and supporting secure solution implementation. This is a high-impact role contributing directly to Federal modernization efforts, with an emphasis on Salesforce platform excellence, compliance, and mission impact.
Core Pillars:
- Requirements & Stakeholder Engagement – Partner with cleared Federal stakeholders to elicit, document, and refine requirements.
- Solution Alignment – Translate requirements into Salesforce functionality and collaborate with developers, architects, and PMs.
- Agile Delivery – Support sprint planning, backlog grooming, and UAT in a cleared, compliance-driven environment.
- Compliance & Documentation – Ensure delivery artifacts meet Federal compliance and security standards.
Responsibilities:
- Lead requirements-gathering workshops with Federal stakeholders.
- Document business processes, requirements, and acceptance criteria in alignment with program objectives.
- Collaborate with Salesforce developers and architects to translate requirements into secure, scalable solutions.
- Support Federal compliance documentation, testing, and ATO-related deliverables.
- Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and training sessions for end users.
- Partner with Project Managers to ensure requirements are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with Federal standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within Thunder’s Federal Delivery practice.
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting Salesforce delivery projects.
- Salesforce Administrator or Business Analyst certification preferred.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery in Federal environments (Scrum, SAFe).
- Strong communication and documentation skills for Federal client-facing engagements.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with delivery, development, and compliance teams.
- US Citizenship and willingness to obtain clearance(s)
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Travel required, as necessary
