Job Description:

The Field Support Engineer will be responsible for customer site preparation consultation, on-site installation, implementation planning, maintenance and repair of Advantest systems solutions.  This will include hardware, software and networking products as well as operating systems.  Install and optimize hardware/software products and configurations at customer sites.  Perform on-site calibration services per Advantest recommended calibration intervals.  Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve product performance problems.  Perform on-site maintenance and repair services.  Ensure high level of customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance, best known methods/practices and configurations, which may impact product system uptime performance.

Responsibilities include:

·         Working within established policies, processes and procedures, deliver hardware support services for Advantest’s integrated ATE system solutions

·         Solving complex problems related to system uptime or availability

·         Failure data and parts usage analysis (Excel)

·         Strong teamwork and communications with local support team members and management

·         Respond to all hardware technical support needs from the assigned account(s).

·         Ability to ‘work-to-completion’ upon short notice, which requires working overtime

·         Timely and accurate completion of all administrative tasks associated with the task performed.

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Travel to local customer site via vehicle (Bay Area/Sacramento Area)
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds without assistance and be able to bend into machinery without restrictions.
  • Push or pull up to 200 lbs. of test equipment and tools using qualified cart or pallet jack.
  • Transport parts or equipment weighing up to 35 lbs. (assistance available when lifting item(s) over 35 lbs.).
  • System repair/servicing requires frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting and occasionally working in unusual positions using full body mobility.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or experience in a related field required

Fluent in English

 

Practical experience - supporting ATE equipment, Advantest 93K experience an advantage.

 

Travel will be required up to 25% (<24 hours’ notice on travel may be experienced occasionally).
