Discord is used by over 200 million people every month for many different reasons, but there’s one thing that nearly everyone does on our platform: play video games. Over 90% of our users play games, spending a combined 1.5 billion hours playing thousands of unique titles on Discord each month. Discord plays a uniquely important role in the future of gaming. We are focused on making it easier and more fun for people to talk and hang out before, during, and after playing games.

We're seeking a Finance Manager for Business Operations to own and elevate Discord's most critical business rhythms, ensuring senior leadership has the insights they need to make strategic decisions with confidence. You'll be the designer and driver of these rhythms, such as Weekly and Quarterly Business Reviews.

This role is for a high-impact individual contributor who is passionate about storytelling, energized by cross-functional collaboration, and naturally driven to build processes that are efficient, well-organized, and consistently executed. You'll work directly with executives across the company to surface what matters most and drive accountability through clear, compelling business narratives.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance, you'll be the connective tissue between Finance and senior leadership, transforming data into stories that shape Discord's strategic direction.

What you'll be doing

  • Own WBR and QBR End-to-End: Design, lead, and continuously improve Discord's weekly and quarterly business review processes. Set the agenda, coordinate across teams, ensure timely execution, and deliver executive-ready materials.
  • Build Executive Dashboards: Design and maintain interactive dashboards that connect metrics to strategic objectives, attribute performance drivers, and enable data-driven decision making across the business.
  • Tell the Business Story: Transform financial and operational data into clear, compelling narratives that connect performance to strategy. Present insights that enable executives to understand trends, identify risks, and make informed decisions.
  • Build Scalable Processes: Establish frameworks, templates, and operating rhythms that make business reviews efficient, consistent, and actionable as Discord continues to scale.
  • Prepare Executive Materials: Develop high-quality presentations, dashboards, and analyses for C-suite consumption. Synthesize complex information into clear recommendations and action items.
  • Enable Real-Time Decision Making: Create mechanisms for tracking business performance between reviews, ensuring leadership has visibility into key metrics and can respond quickly to emerging issues.
  • Foster Accountability: Drive follow-through on action items and commitments made during business reviews. Track progress and ensure cross-functional teams deliver on their objectives.
  • Lead Planning Integration: Connect business review insights to quarterly and annual planning processes, ensuring plans reflect current business realities and strategic priorities.

What you should have

  • 8+ years in FP&A, strategy consulting, chief of staff, or program management roles with experience supporting executive leadership and hands-on work with data
  • Proven track record running executive-level business reviews, operating rhythms, or strategic planning processes
  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills with experience presenting to C-suite audiences
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior leaders across the organization
  • Demonstrated success building and improving processes that drive efficiency and accountability
  • Advanced analytical capabilities and financial acumen; ability to distill complex data into actionable insights
  • Expert-level proficiency in presentation tools (Google Slides/PowerPoint) and Excel/Google Sheets
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Self-starter mentality with bias for action and ownership
  • Passion for cross-functional collaboration and building relationships at all organizational levels

Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties). Relocation assistance may be available.
