Job Description

The ideal Finance Analyst is a highly motivated individual with financial planning and accounting experience. This person will be responsible for supporting the Legal department with financial reporting, journal entries, accounting, bank reconciliation and more. Additionally, this person will have opportunities to partner with legal professionals on requests to support ad-hoc work outside of Finance.

A day in the life…

  • Accurately prepare financial reporting and perform monthly reconciliations and accruals
  • Provide financial planning and analysis for all aspects of Nordstrom’s Legal department, including expense management and budgeting
  • Understand the key drivers of Legal financial performance including workers’ compensation, general liability and litigation spend
  • Manage actuarial claim projections, liability projections and accruals including self-administered claims, third party administrated claims and insured programs
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders including Financial Planning and Analysis and Corporate Accounting

You own this if you have…

  • Minimum 5 years of combined finance and/or corporate accounting experience
  • Excellent financial and analytical skills
  • Ability to work and communicate with team members who have a range of financial acumen
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Experience in legal or risk management (preferred)
  • Experience using Oracle and Anaplan (preferred)
