Reports To: Chief Customer Officer

About the Role

Are you a former banking or credit union professional with a passion for technology and innovation? Do you understand the unique challenges financial institutions face today because you’ve been in their shoes?

Glia is seeking our next Financial Institution Advisor to act as a premier consultant and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our prospects and existing clients. In this highly visible role, you will bridge the gap between our technology platform and the specific needs of banks and credit unions to help them define their strategy and maximize ROI.

You will partner closely with our sales and account management teams to conduct deep discovery, map out phased technology rollouts, and lead high-value workshops on topics like AI governance, branch transformation, and maturity assessments. If you are a strategic thinker who loves advising financial leaders on how to future-proof their operations and drive growth, this is the perfect opportunity to join a growing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Pre-Sales & Deep Discovery: Partner with account teams to conduct deep-dive discovery sessions. Define key business objectives and help uncover the core challenges, current tech stacks, and long-term goals of prospective banking clients.

  • Design Strategies: Translate client discoveries into phased, strategic deployment approaches. Advise institutions on the optimal order to deploy platform capabilities (from inbound tools to AI to outbound campaigns) to ensure adoption and success.

  • Executive Workshop Facilitation: Design and lead high-impact workshops for both prospects and existing customers. Key workshop topics include:

    • Branch Experience Transformation: Navigating how to operate and empower branches in an AI-driven, tech-forward world - whether it’s a virtual branch or a physical branch.

    • AI Policy & Governance: Educating institutions on regulatory best practices, compliance, and how to safely establish an internal AI policy.

    • Strategic Planning: General consulting to help banks align their technology investments with overarching business goals.

    • Maturity Assessment: Conducting a banking AI maturity assessment and providing detailed recommendations on how to connect banking AI technology to key business priorities.

  • Trusted Advisorship: Serve as the ultimate industry SME. Bring increased credibility to every conversation by leveraging your deep banking background to advise clients on how they should be thinking about technology partnerships and the future of banking.

  • Thought Leadership: Create thought leadership pieces in conjunction with our Marketing organization to guide FIs through their Banking AI transformation journey. Represent Glia at industry events and conferences.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Serve as a subject matter expert to internal Glia teams (Product, Product Marketing, Customer Success, etc.) for market and use case intelligence.

Requirements

  • Deep Industry Experience: 15+ years of experience in an operational, technical or marketing role in banking including executive-level experience.

  • Consultative Mindset: Proven ability to act as a strategic advisor. You are highly skilled at asking the right questions, diagnosing complex business problems, and prescribing actionable solutions.

  • Executive Presence: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to confidently lead workshops and command a room of C-suite banking executives and/or board members.

  • Tech-Savvy: A strong understanding of modern technology stacks, AI concepts, and digital transformation trends within the financial sector.

  • Collaborative Partner: Ability to work seamlessly alongside internal sales, customer success, and product teams to drive revenue and client satisfaction.

  • Innovative Mindset: Excitement to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing technology environment.

  • In-Person Presence: Willingness to travel, when necessary, to industry events, client on-sites, and executive briefings to engage with industry leaders.

Bonus Points

  • Growth & Marketing Expertise: Previous experience in retail banking growth, marketing, or revenue generation.

  • Campaign Strategy: A proven track record of designing and executing outbound marketing campaigns specifically aimed at generating revenue, acquiring net-new accounts, and growing membership/deposits.

  • Business Banking Experience: Significant time spent working in business banking - particularly on the growth side of the equation.

  • Lending/Collections: Experience working on strategies to increase loan volume and to increase collections.
