Overview

The Financial Modeling Analyst joins the Financial Analytics & Modeling team and contributes to a broad range of financial analysis and modeling activities supporting a fast-growing energy services company. This role offers hands-on experience across project finance, financial modeling, investment analysis, and strategic decision-making while working closely with senior analysts and business leaders. The analyst assists in the development and maintenance of financial models, evaluates project opportunities, supports financing and commercial activities, and provides analytical insights that help drive informed business decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Develops and maintains financial models supporting central utility, chilled water, renewable energy,and power infrastructure projects under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Assists in evaluating project economics, pricing strategies, capital structures, and financing alternatives.
  • Maintains project-level financial models by updating assumptions, validating inputs, and ensuring model accuracy.
  • Performs sensitivity and scenario analyses related to project capacity, costs, revenues, financing assumptions, and regulatory impacts.
  • Supports the preparation of financial analyses, reports, and presentation materials for executive leadership and project teams.
  • Participates in meetings with internal stakeholders and external advisors, including legal counsel, tax professionals, accounting firms, lenders, and investors, to gain an understanding of project financing and regulatory considerations.
  • Collaborates with engineering, operations, development, and finance teams to collect data, validate assumptions, and support project execution.
  • Performs financial analysis of project and business performance and identifies opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Assists in maintaining financial databases, model documentation, and analytical tools to support consistency and quality across projects.
  • Interprets financial data and prepares analyses that support business planning and strategic decision-making.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor' Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or a related field required
  • Four years of directly related experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Two years of related experience is required
  • Outstanding analytical skills and demonstrated expertise in developing and utilizing detailed, Excel-based, financial models.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Versed in the industry and the Company’s competitors.
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – specifically Microsoft Excel, VBA experience.
  • Functional experience in corporate finance, project finance, investment banking, fixed income.
  • Comfortable in an environment of high growth with changing priorities, and competing demands for time..
